When connected to a 3G or 4G LTE network, the live video feed from your DVR/NVR will be considered streaming data by your phone service provider and will contribute to any data or download limit your phone data plan may have. If you exceed your data plan limit, this may result in additional usage charges. It is highly recommended to contact your phone service provider to know the limits of your data plan before using this video streaming application.

Ratings and reviews

No longer works as of a few days ago. I used to be able to view remotely and also play back recordings. It suddenly no longer connects to any of my devices as of a week ago. I have tried resetting it, repowering it and my cable router/modem. None of the devices that it worked on for the past 5 years are able to connect to it suddenly. I have tried updating the firmware which supposedly was auto-updating, and it still doesn't work.

App no longer compatible with my phone Samsung 24 ultra. I called night owl on 6/24/26 the associate said that it's up to Google or app store to update the app for this phone. That's ridiculous why buy this camera system if it's not compatible with your phone. The whole point of having a camera system is to keep an eye on your home when your out. It was working just fine a few weeks ago. Is there going to be a class action lawsuit because I'm in. I have a whole camera system that wasn't cheap.

App no longer works. App seemed to work fine for about four years, but not any more. Can't view my cameras at all. I've signed out and signed back into the app several times and even uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but still, the app won't work. My cameras are working fine along with the dvr. However, if you need to view your cameras while not at home or at the office, I would recommend a different brand. Night Owl no longer seems to offer or maintain this option.

As the year comes to a close, our App Designer felt Night Owl X and Night Owl X HD needed a fresh new look. His ambition inspired our Engineering Team to create a new release that not only looks better (it is super handsome!), but offers better performance, keeping you connected to your world no matter where you are during the holidays.
