The best reader out there! Running on a Moto DroidX - epubs sound like books on tape! Recommend its use in conjunction with one of the better voices available...I use Ivona Kendra. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is not an app to download books. However, if you have a few epubs on your device (and you should - for downtime) and a headset, you are ready to rock!
Reads CSS, Devs can't be reached. 1) Because the app loads one sentence at a time on the screen, it doesn’t handle paragraphs well. An example in the book I’m reading is that there are doctors who are talking. Instead of saying, “That is interesting, Dr. Smith (Doctor Smith)” the app reads “That is interesting, drive. Smith.” 2) The book reader doesn’t remove @font-face and css for the epub files, reads the CSS outloud! :( 3) I tried emailing the devs with the address on their website, but my email bounced back.
actually, don't know if it works i couldn't get the app to actually access any of my epubs. maybe it's good, or maybe i'm an idiot. edit: ok, i was able to get it to access an epub. but, the app does not access my external sd card, where i keep all of them. i had to move a book to another folder. so, pretty cool. ease of use could be improved,
Use it on my commute daily Love this free app. Use it on my hour commute each day. The voice isn't amazing for a pay player but for free it is. Only downside is it sometimes has problems converting files to txt documents and will only play the 1st page of a book. Otherwise it's a great app!
App has banner problem. It would be better if all text could be visible and scrolled during TTS reading, and current sentense highlighted. One star because the banner overlapping the first two lines of the text. Did you test the application before publishing?
Finally! This app reads books to you! Don't give this app a bad review just because you haven't downloaded an epub book to your SD card. This app reads text (.TXT) files and epub (.EPUB) files and probably many more file types. Come on people, use your favorite search engine to find public domain ebooks, then download and save them to your SD card. [[[Also, this app will download ebooks just fine, and it saves them to your SD card in the Books folder.]]] The voice is a little strange but you can speed up and slow down the reading. While this app is not like a real person reading the book, it sure is great to be able to listen to a book instead of having to read it. Excellent work! Thanks!!
