Recently made the move from Google Finance to this app and have been pleasantly surprised at how easy and practical this app truly is. Google has chosen to neglect its finance which is long over due for an update/revision. Yahoo's app has plenty of individual stock information which many competing apps lack. One feature I would like have included with this app would be the ability to quickly sort my watch list and/or portfolios by the days biggest winners or losers - please add this feature. Feb. 2017 Still NN I ability to sort your custom watch list by biggest daily gainers/losers. Please add this feature.
Best ap by far to check your stocks/tickets. I downloaded 4 and it was the only one that lets you enter your price paid (pretty important). It also lets you customize the (finacial) feilds that you see. Not 50% ad based like Iike others. The main screen is clean with few distractions.
The only suggestion I have is to go back to the old news format without pictures having more condensed headlines i can choose from. I dont like scroll thru many headlines taken up large screen real estate that i have to scroll through...less usable.
Once was 'One of the best (if not THE best) portfolio trackers around. Consistently improving!' Unfortunately, recent updates and changes have absolutely destroyed it's functionality. Yahoo doesn't even care enough to reply to all the negative comments and press. I recommend trying SigFig for your portfolio tracking needs.
The app needs fine tuning for notifications. I like notifications of my stocks and watch list, but I'm getting real tired of the daily notifications of "Stocks are up/down today because of Trump". Trump has very little to do with the total market and the fact that your writers keep insisting on that makes me question their knowledge of the market in general.
It's a good app for basic quotes. My problem is when I pick an article to read it gives me the option to read more of the article. I click Read More button to continue reading and the app closes on me saying Yahoo Finance have unexpectedly stopped working. The only way to read the story is to share it via text message to myself then click on the hyperlink sent in the text I received. Very annoying.
