It's fine if you don't care about photo quality but I think most on Flickr do. The website has helped me get into photography. After buying a dslr I couldn't understand why my nice pics came out looking funny until I realized the app was shrinking the file size significantly. Just use the website if you want your pictures to look nice. I would deal with long upload times easy if it kept my pictures intact. But the app distorts them. Flickr the website is great. The app is not.
Flicker is a great place to host our pictures. And also a great collection of other people's photography is available here. The new uploader is a bit slower than the previous one before upgrade. But still manageable. Apart from this excellent website. I love being a user of flicker. Please check that it has gone slower and slower after next update. The older version uploaded more than 10 pics in the it now uploads a single pic. Plz fix it. Thanx. Fixed thanks. ........................................................ The new update has made it very slow. Please fix the issue. Thanks.
Tapping a full screen picture brings up various icons. Tapping again dismisses them, even if you tap one of the icons! It is almost impossible to actually use the icons. The display shows how many comments and favourites a picture has, but you need to use the info icon to see how many views it has. It is so frustrating to use!
Needs a more comprehensive menu system and to allow custom settings. The app itself can be very slow and sluggish even on wifi due to the number of thumbnails and data it has to download and Camera roll thumbnails sometimes don't load at all. To view my own photos have to go to public for thumbs to load and even then some don't load properly. Issues aside it's a nice app but definitely requires optimising, instagram on Android is so much quicker and responsive compared to Flickr.
Older users of Flickr usually aren't happy about the more Instagramy nature of this app. However it's still a more mature community than all the selfie posters over there, let's keep it that way please. The storage provided is generous and truly appreciated :)
Great app, but it is more functioning like a social network and not a photography application. I was wondering, when is it going to be possible to use the "Organize " option on my phone. In the busy day I'd love to be able to organize my stuff while I'm riding the subway.
We've got another update for you! Here's what we changed:
