Update finally gives us what we want. This new yahoo messenger has taken some very useful features and thrown them out the window. But it regains 2 stars since there is at least a way to log in without a cell number (check your profile in browser for recovery options and set another email)and finally have tablet support. Also friend status would be nice to have back. Maybe a way to say message received at "x" time when it actually pops onto the recipients screen or they have been notified of message received.
Miss the old version! This is nice, but it's like the only thing you really tried to change is the look, but you took a step backwards in everything else, where are the emoticons? Why did you remove the status part?? Srsly! That was the one obvious advantage of messenger, at least abt me and my friends i know, we're ganna miss it, i mean that was the only reason i reinstalled messenger. And poof! Status is gone. New look is good, but we can't customize it! People love to personolize their app come on! The old version had that.
Yahoo messenger. I hate it. Its horrible. Trys to sync all my contacts. Doesnt work. The look of it is vile. So bland and boring. This was a decent app. But now completely destroyed it. Rubbish. Complete utter shite! It has to be one of the most shocking updates ever. Yahoo. Thumbs down from me. Junk! I want online and offline status showing. What's happened to the Buzz feature? It was cool.
Not a fan of the way the contact list includes people and spambots that I've blocked. Animated emojis are gone. Finding coverstaion history from over a year ago takes endless scrolling-- but that's been an issue for awhile, since the messenger stopped logging convos by day. I'm just over all disappointed. The "update" to the PC version feels like such a downgrade.
Message problems For some reason, whatever message I try to send to someone won't actually send for up to a half of a hour; it'll just show up with a grey background rather than the usual blue/green "sent colour".
They killed a great app This was at once robust and great application. It was one of the Premier chat apps. It is so bad now that you can't even tell if your contacts are online. I'm going to delete it. Hopefully AOL buying them might make things better.
