Review from Darwin Muis
The web link from facebook will direct to this app which always tells me "opps something is wrong". It acts more like a censor app than news app... 😰
This app is terrible...not a trustworthy news outlet at all. Majority of articles are extremely biased, forcing reader to question the accuracy of what they're reading. I gave it a fair chance, but deleting it asap. Don't waste your time with Yahoo's Newsroom app
It's good for up-to-date regional and world news, and so the the stars is not about that. I'm deleting this app until there's an option to disable video Auto play. Almost every story has a video accompanying it, and that video will almost always start playing on article load. It's not worth the drain on data, and not worth having your phone start making sound when you just want to read a text news article. I'm switching to the New York Times app since they don't Auto play videos.
This is not an app for serious news readers. A huge problem is that news categories are populated by users--amateurs promoting articles with major slant. And their ridiculous or offensive comments are often inserted above the article, so you are force-fed drivel while browsing for an article to read. Most people will get fed up and find an alternative news source, or stick to Yahoo News' mobile website, which is much better than this app.
I was looking for something similar to the old Breaking News app that push-notified you of new or interesting things happening. This works great for me for that! The app layout is pleasantly laid out and is easy to use. It's working great for me so far!
I like this news app mostly because you can share your opinions on the article. However, I'M SICK OF THE CONTINUOUS DUMB ARTICLES OF THE KARDASHIANS! just STOP!
It has the potential to be great but the user interface sucks. You have to practically hack the app just to review previously read articles and submitted comments. It's really quite ridiculous. Someone should work on fixing that immediately. Reviewing your own posts should be easy. Also, the comment sections are always heavily populated with extremely racist and nasty comments. You see that all over the internet but Yahoo News seems to be a breeding ground for it. The articles tend to lean left more times than not. Which, I'm sure, attracts the right leaning wackos that flood the comment sections.
The Newsroom app is the best way to stay up to date on news that matters to you and the conversation it starts. We update it on a regular basis to make sure you're always up to speed.
Follow the news you choose. Read breaking stories from the world’s best sources.
