Yelp is good. I enjoy reading reviews for businesses I haven't gone to yet, so I can get a head start on what the people think of it so I can decide whether or not to go there. But the unfortunate thing is they don't say if a business is closed for some businesses. There was a clothing store in my town for quite some time, but they closed about 4 or 5 years ago. Yelp didn't put a CLOSED warning so it made me believe they re-opened again. It's just a little misleading, that's all.
You do not allow people to post negative reviews about certain agencies. Not that it does any good, and can lead to retaliation. Yet others have posted things against the super corrupt agency.
Every time I visit Yelp's website and click ANYTHING, I'm automatically directed to the play store to download this app. Why can't I view on mobile Web? Bull crap!
Much harder to get to find things in its eagerness to sell you on a meal, activity or shopping. Energy pig if my phone is hot its because I left Yelp running. Could be better about screening 'attack' reviews from people who only joined to complain about a business. Latest update seems to have trouble finding your location...even tho my map app shows correct , yelp will be off or in orbit
This app is pretty great but I can't get over how irritating it is when a website won't even let you look at it without downloading the app. Want to see a review (THE MOST BASIC THING)? Have to download the app. Want to see pictures? Have to download the app. Some of us just do not have space on our phones and have to constantly delete and redownload apps because of this. What's the point in having a mobile site?
Don't leave home without it! The more reviews on a place, the better each experience is overall; nothing beats actual references. I go out often so might as well help fellow perps!
