It was good but... Why the sudden change in ethos? If this was designed for college and uni students to be anonymous and share thoughts then why expose them. Please bring back some of the old features (my herd, removing handles) to keep the users happy. Thanks.
On my old phone I had my university as my default herd. I can't set my university as my default herd anymore and it's annoying. I can still set it as a herd in my searches, but not as my default herd. And I can't transfer my old Yakarma over to my new phone, which sucks because I had a bunch of chats on my old one and I lost my Handle. It's really annoying to start over and not even be able to join the University herd.
Update: Still no response on my email to them about my issue. Wish there was a way to log back into your account. I turned my phone off and when I turned it back on the app wanted me to make a whole new profile. So that's lame. If anyone knows how to fix this some help would be awesome.
I started using this app only for the private chats but even they don't work anymore. Focus on the problems with it before you decide to roll out new features. This app is too broken.
Good app plagued by issues I like the app and its idea, but it's plagued by lots of glitches and issues. The main one I see is that, when scrolling down the feed, a post will get "frozen" on your screen, and will block you from seeing what actually is on your screen as you scroll, and the whole UI gets messed up. I think it could be fixed and would definitely make the app better.
It's functions well, and it's an interesting concept. However, it's mostly a shitposting competition with a few egomaniacal accounts who think that theyre famous, posting about their relationships with other yakkers that nobody cares about. Also lots of people posting about feeling depressed, and other people trying to comfort them. It seems to have a mostly high-schooler demographic, so you'll hear a lot of sad kids whining because they got dumped or something. It's not HORRIBLE, but it also isn't that good.
Update time! We’ve squashed some bugs and made a few general improvements to the app. Oh yeah, you can now share GIFs in chat. Happy yakking!
