For anyone wondering you can no longer remote start the grill, you have to physically turn it on. I imagine too many dumb dumbs were starting it with the cover still on or too close to house burning it down. App used to be good but now it's just bloat. Oh and now there is a 20⁰ difference in my temp probes, awesome! You can feel shift of the company as it was once a friendly, smaller one but now it's just not the same. I no longer recommend Recteq to anyone in the market.

The app is good as far as the design goes. It is very lacking with the usability. You have to physically turn on the grill only then can you adjust the temp and check the temp of what you have on the grill. One issue is that there are constant notifications of the slightest temp change. The plus side is that the grill is absolutely amazing! I love the smoke it delivers and the bark on the meat.

It started out well but soon became buggy. For the past few years it will not connect with the router. Just a repeating Try Again. We have upgraded the router and none of the three bands work. Neither 5 nor 2.4Ghz connects. The smoker is about 20' from the router - well within range. The probes need regular calibration. Since remote start/stop and temperature adjustment is not needed I'm substituting a new Bluetooth/wifi thermometer and probes for theirs. App Uninstalled.
