I want to preface this by saying the browser version is amazing. I am hooked. 10/10 The mobile version is not as good. Aside from the UI not being the most intuitive system, (which is understandable) I really just wish there was a Dark Mode/etc, and that the player's inner monologue/updates/etc didn't block the screen and actions. There should be a way to swipe them away or have them out of the way of the interactables. It just slows everything down too much for a game that costs money..

Deceptively simple on the surface, but stick with it, and you'll be rewarded. I've finished A Dark Room at least four times now, but still found a few surprises on the last playthrough. The app version has a few extras for those who may already be familiar with the web version, too. Really can't overstate how wonderful this little game is!

Deceptively cool. A gripping, mysterious narrative. Give it patience. You'll be crawling right back into the dark room at the end of your first playthrough. :D Unfortunately, There are a few frustrating bugs in the game that are supposedly not present in the browser version. I hear the story is even better on that version anyway, so maybe I'll give it a try and update this review after that experience. Right now I think it is still one of the better games on the app store.
