Zagster is a rip-off. Even if you purchase the $5 twenty-four hour pass of the $35 annual pass they will still charge you the hourly rate for the use of the bike. Do not even bother using this service because your bank account will be the one feeling it.
Update: The most recent patch for "older phones" fixed all my issues on the Note 4. Thank you guys very much. Changed to 5 stars. Previous Review : I tried two different bikes with my Note 4 and the bluetooth wouldn't connect to the bike lock, but it started charging me for the ride anyway. Got customer support on the line to try the second bike because it doesn't allow you to stop the ride with no connection to the lock, so if I hadn't called customer support, it would've just charged me into oblivion.
I downloaded the Zagster app in Winston Salem, NC because there was a lot of hype about it. Wouldn't let me do anything, it doesn't recognize my location, wouldn't let me type in my location and it didn't let me create an account. A very uneasy first time experience with the app. I even downloaded it multiple times. This app should work on galaxy phones and not just iPhones.
Used this in Denver over the weekend. The had trouble with downloading and installing, connecting to the bikes, recognizing location, locking and unlocking the bike, and even ending the rental. The only good thing is the price of rental was cheap. Even the bikes needed some work. Wouldn't recommend. Would have been better to just have a machine to insert a credit card and pay that way. Not everything needs to be an app. Especially when it's done so poorly.
What a frustrating waste of time. Signing up for this app couldn't be any more difficult. Why not just let folks sign in with their Google account? A call to customer service for my account activated yet the app couldn't find my location or let me unlock bikes. P.S. You can't rent a bike for your wife if you're together, she had to download the app and go through the same annoying problem. This could have been so good, instead it's so bad!
I have an HTC M9, I downloaded the app however, when I open it and put in my city nothing happens. The app seems to get stuck. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing. The online support suggests turn blue tooth on and off. Did that and nothing. Customer service rep for Zagster tells me I need an operating system of a 5.0 to use. My phone doesn't have that. Further more I find it hard to believe that I would even be able to download the app at all if that were the case. This has really pissed me off!! It's not like I have a flip phone or some ancient artifact. It's an older version of the HTC but Geesh. Zagster y'all need to do better than this. I also see other reviews that have the same issue I'm having so I doubt it if it's a system operating version issue. I guess I won't be experiencing this.
