Really an excellent and extremely practical way to do a tax refund! Zapptax team was always quickly available to answer to any questions throughout my trip to France. The refund was done within 24 hours from my return flight. If you are exporting food products I would suggest you only try a refund if the amount is really worth it, as I had a long discussion at CDG airport with customs as they stated food products cannot be refunded (when in fact it can!). Thanks to the cooperation of Zapptax team the problem shall be solved. As for the app itself, it would be nice to be able to label our invoices ourselves as we get quickly lost within all the names that don't really correspond to the product name itself. Also, on my phone the function to take a photo of the invoice directly from the Zapptax app wasn't working. Yet, the app and my first experience using it for the first time still worth a 5 star rating for sure!

Food products can indeed be included in a tax-free form. For some reason however there are a few instances where customs agents do not seem to be aware of this rule. We have already relayed this situation with the French customs administration.
Labeling of items: great idea !
Not happening. You have to ask for bills to be made out to ZappTax. That's not going to happen, most bills are straightforward automated receipts. Especially fuel and of course major stotes. And service staff aren't helpful, they're not going to miraculously find a receipt book and write you out a hand written receipt to some 3rd party body.

Practicality is challenged by two factors : 1 when you ask for an invoice, vendors have many excuses for not issuing them like printer dies not work, I am new here... 2 even if you get an invoice AS SEEN ON ZAPPTAX document, zapata says it s not good enough. By the time you try to correct this, and taking the delay zapptax takes to answer you, you are already back to your country, too late to process the refund. I removed the app and deleted my account

Requesting "invoices addressed to ZappTax" can be a challenge in some case. But our 50.000 users manage to overwhelmingly provide us with those documents.
Regarding processing time, you submitted your only invoice on 12/9 (the day of your departure !) at 14H17 and it was validated at 14H24...
