Updated review: added 2 starts for dev replying to make clear what I was doing wrong. It turns out you CAN set location from search. Don't use a comma between city and state like you were taught as a kid, and keep scrolling through the list of repeaters until you find the placemarker icon next to the city name, then tap that. That sets your location, then you see roosters that are near that location instead of where you are.

The app searches the repeaters database - and - a large built in database of town names, these are also shown in the list of results. Selecting one of these towns will centre your search on that town. You can include a state too For example try - Portland and then try Portland TN See the "About" page of the app for more search examples.

Great app! Turn it on, and there are all the repeaters by distance from your actual location. I travel quite a bit, and the printed repeater books have limitations: 1) many listings are by small towns that you never heard of, and 2) it may show a large city you are near, but the repeater is still be too far to be useful. If you are a traveling ham, you need this.

It's a fantastically useful/handy reference and I recommend as the first thing you get after your $20 Chinese Dual Band. If you're lucky enough to be able to shell out for the BlueCAT adapter and have a compatible radio, it gets even better. It would be wonderful if the app, or at least CAT code, were open-source to be able to contribute new functionality and device support, but as it stands, the CAT functionality is only for the privileged.
