What is MMS?

Melanin Medical Specialties (MMS) is a free, mission-driven mobile app dedicated to improving mentorship for ethnically diverse communities and improving visibility of local healthcare professionals to their communities. By connecting diverse healthcare professionals with their communities, MMS is creating a pipeline of future leaders in healthcare and STEM while promoting health equity.

The Challenge:

Lack of Mentorship: Ethnically diverse youths have limited access to role models in STEM fields across the spectrum.

Limited Representation: Many ethnically diverse communities struggle to find healthcare providers who reflect their cultural backgrounds.

Burnout: Similarly healthcare professionals often face high levels of burnout without sufficient peer support.

Our Solution:
MMS is a dynamic app that:

MMS wants us to WIN and provides us with research opportunities, mentorship, connections, etc. MMS provides hope. My school and I attended the HOSA Internationals 2025 in Tennessee due to their donations. Me and 3 other students also placed top 10 INTERNATIONALY!
