Doesn't work well on the Nexus Was a good app but now the writing is in grey and very hard to read, so bad i don't bother with it. The news story writing has a dark grey in the main news story on the Nexus 6P
Updated version solves access issues Downloaded it so that I could use it for news updates when I do my shows on our local radio station. Earlier version needed questionable access rights, but this latest update has fixed that. Now a genuinely useful app for both general and radio use.
Update: yes, the loony tune has gone and I believe the option to switch off push notifications is new as well? Great stuff. I think the people who download this app will be local people so will not really need any prompts to read the local news. First review: Quite liked the app but where in the name of Fred did that loony fanfare notification tune come from?! Couldn't find a way of changing/deleting it so uninstalled the app. Anyone got any ideas?
Keeping up to date with news It is great for keeping me up to date with Lincolnshire news
Why phone call permissions required? Other similar apps don't require this permission, BBC news, etc., yet they find a way to background sync etc. Can you explain why it's required please? Lots of other users seem to share this opinion and your prior replies aren't really adequate.
I do not want to give permission to make phone calls Although I have read the permission is required for the sharing capability, I do not want to grant that capability. Why am I then prevented from using the app. A real shame as I liked the Google newstand version. Time to go back to the BBC.
