I can safely say I know 100 characters and I have not ever been able to say that confidently. This app and method has taught me what I have tried and failed with classroom and self study practices. There is some issues with the app and it is not perfect but it is far superior with any other app I have tried for learning characters. I supplement this app with Pleco's spaced repetition and will be starting to follow it with a textbook I already have for the speaking Mandarin portion of learning the language.
Excellent app and customer support, caters to many learning styles and is very effective for gaining a solid knowledge base of characters! Support was very responsive to remedy a small activation issue. If you are serious about building your Chinese vocabulary this is the best app I have found after trying many others.

Best Chinese app so far I tried a looot of apps so far to study Chinese characters. But Zizzle is by far the best one I used until now. The stories (each tone is represented by a certain animal) make memorizing the characters so easy. The only downside is that there are no traditional characters available. But apparently they are working on this.

Love the app so far, hope it only gets better as work continues on it. I wanted to write a longer review with suggestions, but I hit the max length, so here's the short version: 1. SRS is great, but it's far too simplistic. I need stats/info on spacing etc. 2. an integrated sister app for learning multi-character vocab would be awesome! 3. Pricing is confusing. Website says one price, app says another. Is it in USD in one and localised in the other? What? 4. You can't enter a coupon code in the app. 5. App allows you to purchase 3 months subscription, but website doesn't. 6. Multiple choice is...meh. I'd love an option to let me type my answers. 7. Gamification! I love watching getting points for things. 8. Not sure if the app does push notifications (haven't had it long enough), but if not why not? 9. the tick for getting a correct answer slows me down, is there a way to make it faster? If I think of anything more, I'll add it. Assuming some of my hopes for this app come to fruition, I can easily see it becoming one of my favourite language learning apps. :)

Thank you vey much! My payment problems seem to be be caused by Google's crazy restrictions on when you can use your Play Store balance and when not... But I recommend you to look into your app's subscription process; at one point it gave me subscriptions without me paying... That shouldn't be possible.

Hi Gregor, thank you so much for your feedback! We are always creating new little stories. Do you have a favorite one? Needs to make it more efficient and user friendly I have been using this app for 7 days, and purchased the 1 year presale code. Some stories used are very effective, although several are pushing it. This app is good in learning the individual characters and the correct tones, which are essential to master the language. But it needs to improve its search capabilities. They need to be able to search partial words and pinyin. A lot of my studying time wasted because of this. It'd also be effective if we can choose specific character from deck to review.

Kevin Great app, and it teaches tones too! This is the first Chinese learning app that I've found that finally combines characters, pronunciation, meaning, and most important the tones. For me, the tones are the most difficult part in learning Chinese, but this app uses mnemonic devices to not only memorize the characters meanings but also the tones!
Creative, easy way of learning Stories are designed to stick in your memory. Beginner HSK levels fully supported!
