I've been happily using this for years. I had to rebuild my phone and it seems I need to install the new version which is limited to one account. So I paid the extra 6.99 for the new features. I don't really like the new interface or look. And it doesn't work when I use VPN on 3/4g. On wifi it's fine but on 3g I get dns lookup fail and registration fails. The older version is the same. I have decided to stay VPN connected all the time. So for me it's back to using csipsimple.
My incoming calls never ring and the call quality is garbage. It's delayed and gargled (even if I'm connected to wifi). The only reason I have it is because it connects to my yealink phone for work. It tells me when I miss calls and then I just call them back from my phone without the app.

The dns lookup is a bug in android that we are trying to work around. The new interface is the same as the native dialer. Just takes some getting used to.

Check the number rewriting in Zoiper as it might eat the *. We do reply to support emails but cannot help everybody as we have millions of mostly free users.

The only thing that should have changed is the gui. Keep in mind that those are reviews from 100k users. Can you contact us on support@zoiper.com about the audio ? Í suspect it is due to wrong settings for rport and stun. The library is 99,9% identical to version 1.x so unless we messed up the settings there should be no difference.

There is a second color scheme for free. Sorry, we cannot give everything for free, we need to pay the bills somehow. We make the most popular android app for voip but the income is not sufficient to pay for the development, it is heavily subsidized by our other projects. The only other option is to stop making a free version.

Great stuff. Using asterisk on arch for simple sip communication and registrattion. Unlike the other sip apps this doesn't crash nor does it feel heavy. * had to lower rating because there is no landscape: I use a tablet. Bluetooth integration could be better. when using app in the background it is not easy to switch back to the call, like for hanging up. Being free and simple it is still the best one. // response to developers : on going call does not appear in my notifications

Landscape support is coming, you can already get it if you apply for the beta. Switching back to the call is like with the native dialer, slide down from the notifications menu to get back. I will ask the development team to investigate this more, can your tablet make GSM calls or it does not have calling functionality ?

Nice app very reliable. However hands free is broken when voice dialing. Must select network on phone to use to place call even when there is only one network available. Would change rating to five if there were a way to be able to make a completely hands free call when on blue tooth in my vehicle Update to response from developer. The phone prompts to select either VoIP network or cell network even if VoIP network is not available when making an outbound call. This only becomes an issue when hands free on Bluetooth. It is not actually a Bluetooth issue but a dialer issue.

I have been using this app for a couple of months and have generally had a good experience until a few days ago. I am unable to make any outgoing calls and keep receiving a 'Timeout 408' message after trying to dial out. It is not my internet connection or my firewall as I am still able to dial out from my computer which is connected to the same wifi but the sound quality is awful. I am still receiving incoming calls. Please advise how I could fix this as it is interfering with my work and causing me to lose money.

If you suddenly have an issue but the app hasn't changed, the issue wont be with the app. Try reinstalling but i doubt that will be the problem. Search on our FAQ on the website for common issues with voice quality.

The app is so far so good but it is missing a lot of functionalities compared with media5. I like to make 2 feature requests and I will rate it 5 stars if the features are available either in future updates or in the newer version currently in beta. 1. Implement a support for internal speaker gain. The current gain in the setting only applies to the loud speaker. Make a separate setting for internal speaker gain. 2. Implement an in-built SIP trace or if not, make it possible to send sip trace to syslog server. This app will be worth my 10 stars if these two features are implemented. I am currently looking for alternatives to media5 because it is going yo reach an end-of-life by August 2018 and I found zoiper as a great replacement. These are the two reasons I still use media5 instead of this great app. If these two features are implemented, I will stop using media5 right away and buy the gold subscription, including all the premium features. I will be looking forward to your input on this. Thanks in advance.

This app was terrible. I paid for the gold version. I tested it with my system at work and was constantly cut off. When I put clients on hold the line would just go dead. It would not even play our hold music or go to voice mail. Transfers did not work at all and the connection was awful when it did work. I work for an IT company and my team of phone and computer technicians were unable to get this app to work at a usable consistancy. I would not recommend paying for this app. Despite the desktop version working well. How do I arrange a refund?

You can contact our support team. When you put people on hold and the line goes dead is a problem with your server configuration though, not the client. Transfers not working is also a server configuration issue. Connection quality depends on your network quality (and can be verified during a call).

v1.53 Beautiful BUT will not make calls on my VoIP-SIP service (which can make calls on CSipSimple) and cannot unsync native phone app integration or trun off "always on" (CSipSimple can). I will use this app if I can make calls in future releases, disable "always on" in settings, and choose to not integrate native phone call history.

Using this with VOIP.ms service. Cut your cord but keep your home phone number and always be able to answer your "home" phone even when you are away. With Zoiper I don't even bother making outbound calls with my cellphone but instead just use the data or wifi to place calls.

Huge problems with using the keypad once I am in a call, as in activating a credit card. Call works fine, 15 tries to enter the CC number fail. This is happening with perfect reception of the voice prompts. It happens both over WiFi and over cell data. Even worse, installing and using the Mac version of Zoiper and calling the same number over the same WiFi network worked the first time.

please ask your provider what to use. Sip info or rfc2833, it depends on the server setting. If it does not work reliably, ask your operator for assistance, zoiper is definitely doing it properly :)

New version simply doesn't work at all. Fresh install and it crashes in a loop. When I'm finally able to use it, I can see it register on the PBX but the line never rings. I have a second device with an older version and no such problem. It also drops calls but keeps the line active, so you think the person is just ignoring you while in fact they think you hung up. Uninstalling does not remove preferences or configs, so when you reinstall you get the same problems. And if you deactivate an account, expect it to reactivate on its own randomly for no reason.

Its Ok, I needed to update my review for this app. My original complaint was that the audio sound to the caller was unusable when your on bluetooth, they could barely hear me. After messing with the setting I found the the audio driver in the settings was default to "openSL ES" and that don't work correctly on some android phones. If you set it to "External Java Driver" it will clear up the audio to the callers side. they will hear you much better when your on your bluetooth. so I'm changing my 3 stars to 4 stars.

Works very well with my voip.ms account, but does not vibrate my Bluetooth headset (LG HBS 810) when receiving calls. Lots of missed calls as a result. I tried to switch back to the native Android SIP client on my Samsung Galaxy S6 for this reason (which does vibrate my headset), but reliability is much worse than Zoiper. I'm going back to Zoiper for now, but hope they can implement / fix Bluetooth vibration. I'd pay for that feature. (Update 2017.07.18) I have updated to Beta as suggested, but the issue still persist. In fact, there is another issue with answer calls using the headset. I've left a description of the problem on the Beta app's review, but so far there is no response.

I own a small msp and deploy VoIP phones to my clients every day. This is a great app for connecting those clients through sip to their current phone system for when they are out of the office. There are many other sip soft phone apps out there that cost money but this has the most features for being free.
