Stop killing your apps randomly. Start monitoring them with Watchdog.
NOTE: There is an Android issue where Watchdog might crash upon launching after an upgrade. It seems to be related to the upgrade of the app while the old version happens to be executing in the background. It doesn't affect your phone's operation at all. If this happens, re-launch and goto the menu and hit restart for proper monitoring.
Package verification problems: If you installed the Lite version via the Amazon app store, you'll have to upgrade it there(should be available shortly), or uninstall and reinstall the market version. This will solve your problem.
You don't need a task killer. But you do need a way to make sure a background app doesn't lose control and eat up all your CPU. Watchdog monitors your apps and alerts when one loses control, allowing you to kill just that single app. Killing apps blindly can cause them to stop working as designed, and most app developers won't even take a bug report from you if you are using a task killer!
From Android 2.2 on, the kill command works only on background apps, and they will likely restart immediately. Watchdog removes the app immediately from the list, since there isn't feedback about whether it was successful. Having lots of apps running doesn't hurt your phone at all unless they are doing something. In fact, killing an app and having it immediately restart simply consumes your phones resources. If you just leave the apps running, they will start immediately when you want to go back to it.
The paid version has all the features of the lite, removing the ads, while adding a “blacklist” feature. This allows you to pick a single app that is constantly misbehaving and assign a CPU % threshold to it. When that app exceeds the threshold, it will be automatically killed.
So stop blindly killing all your apps; be smart by managing them instead. Good for all versions of Android.

Just a crash, no reason I install it, and without reason nor explination this app crashes. I can't use the instructions of the decription since I don't have any 'menu' option at all. Using Xperia Pro with Lupus kernel and Ultimate HD ROM ics

Excellent ap Excellent app that makes me very aware of which apps drain not only my battery, but also my memory. A couple of times, it even made me aware of an app that started on its own. I uninstalled it. No way to know what kind of damage could've been done, had I not known about it. Have it installed on all my android devices.

Removed due to constant crashes The app is great for monitoring your processor and RAM usage of apps... or atleast it is when it works. More often than not though, I'm presented with the 'crash bug report' dialogue box ranging from 4 times a day upwards with no replies or hints of an issue being addressed despite several crash reports being sent. Perhaps improving the stability or at least discovering what the cause it would be better, and if that happens then I might be tempted to reinstall it but until then it's off my phone.

Best Task Manager! You can use this app to figure out which apps are hogging system resources and slowing down the entire tablet instead of trying to constantly clear all apps from your RAM (which is there to open up more quickly the next time you open it btw) and speed everything up! Using on an ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 and it has GREATLY sped up my tablet!

The Best....... I used a task killer sence ive had this droidx2 but never understand why it had froze so much...till i googled (does task killer works)..to learn they freeze your phone up if any thing.....but they had an alternative (Watchdog).. and believe me it works...my phone is old and it runs like its new......

Nice CPU Surge Monitor Have been using free version of this app for several months now and so far so good. Whether some process or app causes spikes, Watchdog always notifies about it which allows me to suspend the app/process in question from wasting system resources and maintain optimal performance of my device.

Benign It really does not seem to do.much. I have my doubts that it actually even kills processes. Example: in Watchdog, watchdog itself was using 14.8% resources so I killed it. Intuition tells me it should close out of watchdog, being as I KILLED it, yet it just disappears from its own list for a while, never closes, before popping up at the top again using the same amount of CPU. Wtf...
Excellent! At first I wasn't sure it was working and then an app went crazy and it let me shut out it down. Better than a task killer (which you shouldn't have on ICS anyway). Razr
Love it It really help because alot of time my battery run quickly and so (watchdog )tell me which app is killing my battery and it ask if I wanna kill that app , ignore it or keep on a white list and it better then task killer , so now instead of killing all my app , now I know which app(s) to really kill
hTc Wildfire This app. Works like a dream.makes the handset stop force closing.A must installation app. N +ve recomendation
Great app!! Great app, i like how it doesn't kill tasks, it just makes you aware of the problematic ones.
Not too shabby It has certainly kept my phone running at top speed and saved my battery a lot, I'm sure. Not a bad app
Samsung Galaxy S3 Must have for everyone with an android phone, unlike task killers this app monitors CPU usages not memory. You can set it to monitor live or at intervals allowing you real time usage of your CPU. Especially useful when system is bogging or you believe a app is misbehaving.
Pretty good It does what it's supposed to reliably. Haven't had any negative experiences with it yet.
Not bad After using this apps...my s2 no longer facing freezing or hanging issues. Because i managed to kill any apps b4 it stArted to burden my phone processor and eat up excessive ram...hope tat tis app can kill the apps automatically if it senses any unusuall activity
IT'S DO WHAT IT SAYS It's a fine app for those who required a speedy system of operation and never let your system down & also check out the system, background & foreground process & informed when it exceeds a preset value by a notification message & u can clear & kill the same & thereby protecting the battery too from excessive cpu usage.
Lol It tells you what apps are using too much cpu, only problem is every alert it gave me was for it self. Oh well at least I know nothing else on my phone is misbehaving.
Great CPU Monitor I love it. At first I didn't think it would be useful but then it started notifying me of energy-draining applications. It gives me the option to ignore, put it on the exceptions list or simply kill it. This application is very useful.
Likin it!! It's taken me a while to wrap my head around this way of thinking in regards to cpu & task killers and I'm still doing that. I do know that this Watchdog app is making that transition smoother & has allowed me to get rid of all my app/task killers. Thanks so much, it is much appreciated!!!
Looks promising...... Only have had it a half a day but no complaints as of yet......does very well exactly what it claims to do......
Suspect! Never had lockups until I installed Watchdog Lite. Only installed it to monitor CPU usage by other apps, but now it seems this app is actually (intermittently) killing my phone. (This seems likely because it doesn't report that ANY app is causing 100% CPU usage, and yet, something is. My phone starts giving me Watchdog Lite Not Responding messages, and only works for a few seconds at a time, before it chokes again for 15-30 seconds or longer, until it eventually doesn't come back at all and requires a Power Off.) I like the background and concept, but not sure that this app is itself stable and reliable. One thing I really do like about it is the fact that it has a permanent notification option - so you can start it while running another app. It's hard to be sure because I have added a few apps recently, but this one seems the most likely culprit. Will remove for now and see how it goes.
Watch dog lite It really work's. Truly let's me know when apps are misbehaving & kills them. Samsung s 3 4g. Mike
Excellent app You can read other reviews for what's not to like. I found this app to be very useful and a good way to learn which apps are causing problems. The most appreciable outcome was increased battery life.
Nice app can be better The app is really good. It helped me to track which app is making old pH (Samsung Galaxy sduos 7562) lag.turn out it was mostly because android system. This app can be better if it can provide more info of ram usage like cache & all. Also it would be great if the app can be used for a rooted pH to kill even the system process. Right now I'm facing a new problem that WhatsApp & true caller are in system process category how to changed that ?
