Spent three days trying to get this to work. Managed to root the tablet, and download the package, and load the extra apps required, however the instructions of what to do beyond that point are totally inadequate. Sure if you were an experienced programmer it may be easy, but for a person without indepth knowledge, and no detailed instructions it is a road to nowhere, apparently the downloaded apps have difficulty communicating with one another.

Installed this app, downloaded the image and unzipped (Ubuntu), installed BusyBox, Terminal Emulator and the VNC Client, configured the app to pick up the unzipped img file, but when I attempt to launch Linux i get the error "Unable to get permission from the terminal app, please reinstall Complete Linux Installer". Terminal emulator runs fine, can su, but I have no idea what to do next to troubleshoot. No usable docs online (the FAQ is 3 questions with no detail!). #FAIL

I got around "Unable to get permission from the terminal app..." by opening Terminal Emulator before invoking Complete Linux Installer and issuing a "mount -rw -t vfat /dev/block/vold/179:1 /storage/sdcard0" command because of how android treats apps discretely. Then the fun began. The linux images were quite dated. Ubuntu was a "Saucy" release. I set out on the upgrade path from Saucy > Trusty > Xenial > Bionic. Focal is up next. But, hey, I got Linux running an old KitKat tablet.
