About this game

ARMSX2 brings PlayStation 2 emulation to modern ARM-based Android devices. Based on the PCSX2 project, ARMSX2 is designed to help you enjoy your own legally obtained PS2 games on today’s phones, tablets, and handheld gaming devices. Refresh now includes a rebase to the latest PCSX2 2.7 core, and a native ARM64 Recompiler.

Founded by jpolo1224 and MoonPower, and worked on by a great team of talented developers, such as lead devs Zeruth, Traknos, and Dib1998, ARMSX2 focuses on performance, compatibility, and accessibility for users who want to revisit and preserve their personal PS2 game libraries on modern mobile hardware.

With customizable touchscreen controls, hardcore RetroAchievements support, external controller support, graphics settings, performance options, save states, memory card manager/support, and more, ARMSX2 gives you the tools to tune your experience across a wide range of devices.

Disclaimer: ARMSX2 does not include any games or BIOS files. Users must provide their own legally obtained game backups and BIOS. ARMSX2 is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or PlayStation.

Love the attention the Devs are giving this: DAILY updates! BUT how the hell do I change the BIOS?! I've got BIOS for all regions & I selected Europe. But of 70 ROMs most are actually US. If I press the BIOS button it just boots the PS2! All the other buttons on that menu do as they say- except BIOS! There's a chance Im just being retarded here so Im not scoring it less. It seems incredibly in-depth for an android emulator, but lads, perhaps it could be more user friendly?!

it's a very good attempt but need to fix the issues with the GPU host crashes with the Mali GPUs even high end ones throw some exception which causes the game to crash especially high bloom and memory read back timeless the Mali GPU is notoriously bad at handling bad code and it crashes please fix this!

Love the new update, the UI is definitely made for portrait mode unlike the previous one. Hoping for pressure sensitive button support Dualshock 3 (wireless rooted, and wired), Dualshock 2 (ps/2 to usb), Retro Fighters Defender/Pro, and other 3rd party Ps2/Ps3 Controllers. Hoping there is a compatibility guide or testing for drivers to make driver selection much simpler.

What’s new

New recompiler backend by bmdhacks, faster and far more accurate. Many games that were previously broken now run correctly, including Ratchet: Deadlocked, Crash Twinsanity, and ESPN NFL 2K5. Helps lower-end.

New GS Multi-threading option by bmdhacks: run 2x/3x internal resolution without the frame dips. Off by default, turn it on in Renderer settings and restart the game.

Known issues (fixes in progress): Jak X and True Crime: New York City have graphics regressions on the new backend.
