It is helping me overcome my technology addiction. But, whenever a notification pops up from a blocked app, the entire screen gets covered by appblock as if I'm opening the app. Same thing happens when I dismiss a blocked notification from my tray. It's super annoying because it interrupts what I'm doing on my phone at that time.
This app is simple yet powerful and fantastic. After only a couple of days, my social media "addiction" has diminished drastically. The app is also felxible enough to suit anyone's unique needs. For example, I use it to stop myself from using my phone at least 30 minutes before bed. It may take a bit of self control from your side to not disable to app or to remember to re-enable it at a later stage, but it really makes the task of getting rid of the "phubbing" habit so much easier. I highly reccomend this app to anyone trying to be more productive!
This app works as expected. The scheduler is working perfectly and the apps I want are blocked. My only thought would be to make the ""Known issues" in the app settings more clear for the first time a user installs the app. It did not work until I activated the setting there.
It's good and does more or less what it should. A couple of issues/tweaks: when a notification for a blocked app pops up then the appblocker page pops up which is frustrating. Also, if you're phone is locked and you receive a notification from a blocked app, when you unlock the phone by whatever means, the appblocker page pops up immediately. Also would be good to have a function where it only allows you on an app for a certain amount of time, then blocks you for a designated period of time. So 5mins on a social networking app, locks you out for an hour, then you get another 5mins (or whatever time you designate)
Not encountered any of the issues others have said. It does its job keeping me off social media and focused on my thesis. The only thing I'd say is a problem in the free version is it only lets you set 2 intervals
When we block an app using this, it opens and says that this app is blocked. And doesn't let us access that app. THAT IS FINE. But there is a loophole. While showing the warning it actually opens up another window. So there are actually 2 windows, the original blocked app and this one. I can easily see the 2 separate windows in app switcher and drag the original app to multitasking which gives me full access even with this app running. So..This app doesn't block anymore, does it?
