About this app

NetMonster collects, shows and stores information about nearby cell towers. Each tower has its unique set of identifiers and NetMonster will show you them. In select areas and countries precise locations are available.

All cells that your phone actively connected to are continuously saved into log till you terminate the app. You can manually correct the location, browse cells on the map, filter them and eventually export all the data.

NetMonster also visualises signal changes and provides short description what given measurement means and how it affects reception quality or theoretical maximal speed.

Supported networks are GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, 4G LTE, 5G NSA and 5G SA. When it comes to LTE, NetMonster also detects aggregated carriers (so-called LTE-Advanced). For areas where 5G NSA is available you can see if NSA is in use or just deployed, carrier aggregation in 4G+5G NSA is also available.

NetMonster is based on open-source library NetMonster Core:

App will not work without notification permission even though it is not required to function, and there is no paid ad removal and transmitter location option except for a subscription. Otherwise it's a useful app.

Hmmm... Privacy policy - "NetMonster does not contain advertisements". Update app - oh look, consent screen for targeted ads, followed by ads. Checks changelog for mention of ads - nothing. I'm not against ads as such, as long as they're not too dominant, but why all the secrecy? That aside, the app is great and does pretty much what you'd expect (very handy for checking bandwidth in use), except for cell locations which are - at best - eclectic.

Beware of this suspicious app, it asks for your location and number, what is the need of providing your mobile number just to access your own hidden system settings. Others have also reported the same number being created as their own . Who knows maybe your mobile number will be used in a scam.Even the name of the developer seems suspicious. There are other apps that do the same function much better and does not asks for anything just to access your own hidden system settings.
