Vital Art Nouveau 1900
The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague has prepared an application for the exhibition Vital Art Nouveau 1900, running until 2016 at the Municipal House in Prague, with information on selected items on view, their creators and the period context. The application includes the fields of clothing fashion, poster art, interior design and the visual idioms of artists‘ associations. The objects rendered in the style of Organic or Geometric Art Nouveau also acquaint its users with the exhibition‘s thematic areas, e.g. The Movement of the Soul and Femme Fatale. The application and exhibition present a selection of the most outstanding works of Czech and European Art Nouveau art. They are intended to show the Art Nouveau arts and crafts as part of the groundbreaking, forward-looking trends and emancipation efforts that evolved in the late 19th century, as a reformist art movement that strove for “the multiplication and intensification of life”.
