I had high hopes for this update. The interface is definitely better - a more modern look. Sound quality is a bit better, but still not up to the standard of a DECT phone on the Fritz!box system. Two issues: (1) lag/latency which means you end up interrupting the person you are talking to on the phone (2) voice distortion - making you sound like a Dalek. Sadly there doesn't seem to be any way of tweaking the sound through settings short of of trying a reinstall. In fact there don't appear to be any technical settings available at all which is strange on a VOIP phone.

Hello, please update to version 2.1.0 and read: https://en.avm.de/service/fritzapps/fritzapp-fon/knowledge-base/publication/show/97_Poor-voice-quality-when-conducting-calls/#zd. If applicable, send us feedback from the app with log, support data and ID "#appfid3698".

The design is antiquated and feels like it's from Android 2.4 Though it does work well with the router, aside from a hitch for a second on picking up calls during which no participant can hear the other. I'd also like to be able to pick from my phone's contact list which this doesn't do. It only allows you to pick from the router's contact database.

Ui is pretty bad but usable. The Microphone issue could be solved with the provided help (thank you). However there is still the issue of the app not recognizing an incoming call although it is fully connected. 1 out of 3 calls I need to call back because the app simply does not ring. I have checked the background process limit and it is still at the "default limit" so this doesn't seem to be the issue. In fact I'm quite sure that it isn't because I often switch to the app when my other phone is ringing and although the app claims to be connected and working fine it simply doesn't ring.

Hello, have a close look at the android settings for background operations. When the FRITZ!App Fon is connected every call should get through (as long as you are in your local wifi network).
