LandscapAR is a new form of augmented reality (AR) app that invites users to create intriguing islands and terrains. Just sketch the elevation lines on a real piece of paper and it will be directly translated into a 3D landscape!
Create your own favorite tropical island with as many hills, mountains and valleys as you wish and visualize it on your table top at home in full 3D. Walk around your creation and view the islands from all perspectives.
Note that the paper should be distinctly visible from the background, that is, the paper should be as bright as possible and the background as dark as possible. Furthermore, you should use a thick dark pen.

Works but hard to view the results Using a HTC M8. Drew the circles and the app created the landscape. The issue was trying to view in 3D mode was problematic. Moving the camera around didn't produce a 3D image but certain angles did pick up the image on a computer screen but required a very steady hand and only achieved glimpses of the generated image

Crashes on scan I'm not sure if this app needs an update or not but each time I get it to recognize the paper the crashes on the scan. I'm using an Lg G4. This is a really cool idea and I hope to use it in the future. But for now I'll be uninstalling.

Great idea, ridiculously buggy Even with white paper, black background, thick lines, etc., this app has unbelievable trouble finding the paper. Forget moving around the model, getting the thing to appear steadily in the first place is a nightmare.
Not working. This app sounds fun and interesting. Gave it a try. Not working. Installed/uninstalled it about 10 times. Either will close the moment I tap the button to take a picture or it will freeze where it says hold still 🙁 unlocked Motorola Nexus 6
Needs improvement. A help menu would be nice, so I know what the buttons do. Sometimes the scanner doesn't work properly. I can't view my islands from any other angle, except at the top view. It's a great idea, I wish it worked better though.
Liked the idea Unfortunately no matter what combination of backgrounds I lay the paper on it kept saying paper must be fully visible. It even popped up with a rectangle around the paper perfectly so I don't understand why it wast working.
A lot of potential. This is great as long as you have patience because the 3d image is a little unstable due to your hand shaking. I would suggest improving upon this app by expanding it to other surfaces like tables etc, not only paper (since you can already move a saved image onto other pieces of paper)

Awesome This is a really cool app that works quite well. Although using the the auto for finding paper, is kinda glitchy. Its a really cool app. Keep up the good work! xD
Takes picture then app closes App takes the picture I hear the camera click then app crashes and returns me to the home screen with no notification box. Running this app with latest android update on an LG G5 from Sprint.
Tracking. Its A Great Idea But It Just Is Not Good At Tracking, I Would Prefer If There Was A Marker That You Could Print Of For Better Tracking Capabilities
A fun time waster Had a lot of fun with it, drawing island chains with the kids. Very finicky but manageable, give it some time to get better
Crashes on scan The app idea is awesome, but the app closes on itself when I press scan. Please fix this.
Needs improvement, but good start Its cool for a table top gamer like myself, but perhaps integration of customizable altitude increments would be ideal and smoothing options as well. Perhaps even another step; decorating the island on its own server hosted by the app's device and upto maybe 10x or higher zoom. This is something that could become the next best tycoon game and even change tycoons as we know it.
This app is excellent. What a great way to teach students about contour lines! Much more exciting than my usual introduction to topographic maps

I don't like it because whenever I try to scan it it works but d landscape is not what I drew so please fix this in the next update the tablet I'm using is a nexus 7 so please fix this in the next update

Not working Do you just draw circles on a pages and it comes to life, because mine isn't working.
This is a good app really converts the sketches into landscapes but how to toggle between the different views?
Does it only work for high resulation camera? not working on my galaxy young.
Cool make sure you have your paper on a dark background
