The My BMW App is optimised for vehicles built from 2014 onwards. The availability of individual app functions depends on your vehicle equipment and your BMW ConnectedDrive contract. The availability of app functions may vary between countries.

Ratings and reviews

The BMW app is very useful. In addition to allowing us check the status and location of our vehicle when we are away from the vehicle, the app also let us control certain functions remotely too. Apart from that, the app allows us to plan our journey/trip with the GPS even before we get into our vehicle (e.g. sending destination of our trip from the app to the vehicle). There are other features we have not try yet, but I am sure that we will get to use them soon.

Doesn't work with Firefox browser using Samsung phone. Logging into the app seems to involve the app redirecting to the default system browser, which in my case is Firefox. Returning to the app then fails, so basically it's not possible to use the app any more. Even if I change my default browser to Chrome, then every time you log on, it's as if it's the first time and asks you to set and confirm a 4 digit pin. Just bonkers.

The most infuriating and frustrating app experience, to the point it is unacceptable for a brand of this size. Every single time it requires you to log in again. Imagine being in a rush and needing to use the app to send map locations to the car? imagine having to login everytime to do this and setting up a new pin everytime. Product team if you are reading this, prioritise it in your backlog for the next sprint immediately.
