When first installed the app would read an incoming SMS very quickly. Now an incoming SMS will not be ready for several seconds making me think the app is either not turned on or not working, when it is. Even when using the 'Test Text to Speech' the app responds very slowly! Also would prefer the volume be linked to Media rather than Ringtone (not very intuitive). The 'Quick Silent Control' feature works well, if you remember to hit 'Save' after your selections. Would prefer this be selectable from the icon. All-in-all a functional app that is especially handy when driving.
Need to force stop & restart daily I really like this app, but I find that it stops working after a few days. I end up having to go into a task manager, and kill the running service. Then, I go into settings, toggle an item off and on, save it, and it restarts. Then it works fine for another day or so. When I find it not reading my texts, I kill it and start again. Works great when it's working. This is on a 2GB Motorola MOTO G3 (2015), running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
HTC ONE. Highly recommended, I now use this every day at work (I work outside) it would have been five stars if it read all messages that pop up in the taskbar rather than just texts. Maybe I'm being too picky though! Thanks.
Nice but there is better I was using this and it worked well but the reading a bunch of past messages was a pain and the fact it does not have an auto start on buletooth connection was also an issue. I have switched to ReadItToMe also on Google Play and prefer it as it is more stable and has the auto start on bluetooth connection
Great app simple and easy Liked it a little better when I could just turn it on when I jumped in the car and it read. Now I have to remember to take my phone of vibrate. Still great and easy. Don't know what person who said they can't turn it off is talking about touch the widget and its off.
Can't turn it off Reads texts fine, but there is no way to turn it off. I downloaded it so I could hear texts while driving or when I'm busy doing something, but having it go off at work or in the presence of someone else is not what I want. The only way to work around it is to put the phone on silent. The voice won't even stop if you hit the volume down button in the middle of reading a text. Please fix this, it's so annoying.
- announce correct name when text messages contain a name instead of a phone number (oerators etc)
Read aloud and on screen web pages, PDF, DOC, TXT, EPUB and FB2 files and more.
