There are times when I'm listening to a podcast and I either record or listen to a voice message in Signal or WhatsApp and the play button in the notifications menu will not work. I have to open the app to start listening again. Seldomly, the play button in app will not work as well and I have to force quit and reopen for it to work again. I'm on a Pixel 7 Pro ✌️. Thank you guys. Best alternative to Google Podcast. You saved me!

I primarily listen to podcasts in the car - via Android Auto. What I most appreciated about Google Podcasts was its integration with Android Auto. When I opened the app (in the car), it opened to a list of new episodes. Not so with AntennaPod. While it's easy to use out of the car, I have to go through multiple steps to get to the new episode list. Not something I want to do when I'm behind the wheel. When/if that change occurs, I'll update my rating to five stars.

Really pretty good with an annoying deal breaker. I like the way it looks and it gets the job done. I don't really understand the use case for the Inbox, but I've just disabled it so no worry. My big issue is the inability to resume playback from the lock screen or drag down menu if paused for more than a few seconds. I know the documentation points this issue to an Android one, and that may be, but never in 5+ years of using Google podcasts or PocketCasts has it ever happened before this app.
