Great for Procrastinators I have just started using this app, because I'm obviously a procrastinator like all the other people who downloaded this app. So far, it has been great! I just have one problem with it. Is it possible if app detox could be able to block apps while they are running? Sometimes I have an app open that should be blocked, but isn't because the rule started while it was open.
Would give 5 stars if it had a warning feature. Now it suddenly shuts down the app without any warning, while u might be typing/reading something. Then we will need to disable the app to complete our task, which defeats the whole purpose. Better to have a 10mins and 5mins warning feature, so that users can quickly finish their task and be prepared to shut down. So they won't be tempted to disable the app! ------ Thanks for the advice, but the warning toast message only shows when the app is started? The app still suddenly shuts down when the time is up. Would be much better if there's a 10min and 5min remaining warning feature? Then users can quickly finish up their tasks, and be less likely to disable the app to complete the task? Which would defeat the purpose of the app... --- No response from developer. Unhelpful. Uninstalled app.
Great concept! I love this app but like some of the other reviews said it the timer doesn't work sometimes. I set a timer for my Facebook app for one hour every day but I can spend hours on it and it will still say I have a full hour for the day. I also have an app lock installed so maybe that's messing with it but idk. If fixed I would definitely give this 5 stars!
hating it. Why it counts when recent app button pressed and swipe down quick settings from above. Very bad. need more sturn one liners and motivational lines as well., some apps still works after limit set, fix it
Great app I really like the app, has definitely helped cut down on usage while I have uni work. Few suggestions though - either not being able to pause the blocks at all, or making it much harder to pause them. And creating favourites which let's you easily reset some time rules. For if I've scheduled 45 work, 15 mins break, there is no way to quickly reset these rules without having to reselect the apps and then input the blocked time. Way to schedule in breaks and then reblock the apps on auto would be good too.
Wonderful app with a fatal flaw. The people who will use this are bound to mostly be hardcore procrastinators like myself. After all, if you have to download an app to help you, you have an issue. The interface is clean and intuitive. However, I'll have to abandon ship because the software has a major flaw that renders its functionality pointless for true procrastinators. You see, in settings, you can remove the pause functionality, so you can't cheat on yourself. This is excellent and very necessary, as the whole point is to lock yourself in. However, the Delete icon remains...WHILE THE BLOCK IS IN PROGRESS. This is a loophole. If I get frustrated, I'll just click on the trash can icon and - voila! I've beat the app. Of course, users must be able to delete or change "rules", I get that...but never during an ongoing block. Other blocking softwares (which shall not be named) do this, but I was hoping I could have a solution for Android. The whole point is for you to stay locked out during the rule, and AppDetox leaves the key within reach. Sigh. It is imperative that these kinds of programs have firm, airtight solutions. This one, sadly, doesn't.
