About this app

A child emergency is always a challenge, even for professional teams. The exact calculation of the weight-adapted medication application poses one of the greatest challenges for the emergency services, primary care providers and clinical emergency teams. To ensure that serious underdoses or overdoses of medication do not occur, the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI) has published medication recommendations in the DIVI children's emergency card. In cooperation with DIVI, lifeguardmedia GmbH has digitized the DIVI children's emergency card and developed it into a user-friendly, clear app that can be used quickly and easily in an emergency.

The most important parameters are filtered in a matter of seconds using a quick-to-use selection in one of the categories “weight”, “age” and “height” or using the widely used Broselow scale. After selecting the indication, the medication to be used, application form and dosage appear immediately. In order to prevent confusion, the display is additionally colored in line with the standardized use of colored syringe labels. As an alternative to displaying by indication, a search function can also be used.

The DIVI recommendations avoid dilution as much as possible so that another source of error can be avoided. Only medications that are commonly diluted in emergency medicine across all age groups are listed as diluted. Dosages that are mathematically correct but cannot be administered are pragmatically rounded.

- Can be used offline - for 100% reliability
- Clear and structured for maximum patient safety
- Update guarantee and continuous development of the app
- Designed and implemented in Germany

Purpose and disclaimer
------------------------------------------------------
The app serves as support for medical professionals/emergency workers such as paramedics and emergency doctors in dealing with pediatric emergencies. It prepares previously published information from verified sources in a simple, structured and clear manner. However, the app does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment in individual cases.
All dosages have been carefully researched to the best of our knowledge and belief and come from the sources of DIVI (German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine). We do not do our own calculations, but only display the values provided by DIVI. However, this does not release the user from checking the dosages before use and adapting them to the patient's condition. No guarantee can be given for the accuracy of the information. Some of the medications listed may not be approved for indication, dosage or route of administration.
