The club was founded in 1967 as Eltham Soccer Club which was renamed in the mid 1980’s to Eltham North Soccer Club which in turn became Eltham North Soccer & Sporting Club (although the club was still always referred to as Eltham North Soccer Club or ‘ENSC’ during this period).
At the 2009 AGM the members voted unanimously in favour of a name and logo change as part of a re-branding strategy beginning in 2010 to coincide with a ~$1.6m AUD facilities upgrade.
The name change expands from ‘Eltham North’ to ‘Eltham’ to appeal to the greater Nillumbik region as well as following the name change trends of the Football Federation of Victoria (previously Soccer Victoria) and the Football Federation of Australia to incorporate the official sport name ‘football’.
As with any well run club the committee at the Eltham Redbacks refused to rest on their laurels and decided it was time to take another step towards making the club even more dynamic and engaging for their players, members, supporters and sponsors.
After reviewing multiple options which would allow the club to take the next step up in to the 21st century, the committee are pleased to announce the release of the Eltham Redbacks first ever native mobile phone app for Android!
The app will be branded in the famous colours of the Eltham Redbacks Football Club and the content available to users in the app will be about the mighty Redbacks.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be the 20th FIFA World Cup, an international men's football tournament, that is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014. It will be the second time that Brazil has hosted the competition, the previous being in 1950. Brazil was elected unchallenged as host nation in 2007 after the international football federation, FIFA, decreed that the tournament would be staged in South America for the first time since 1978 in Argentina, and the fifth time overall.
The national teams of 31 countries advanced through qualification competitions that began in June 2011 to participate with the host nation Brazil in the final tournament. A total of 64 matches are to be played in twelve cities across Brazil in either new or redeveloped stadiums, with the tournament beginning with a group stage. For the first time at a World Cup Finals, the matches will use goal-line technology.
With the host country, all world champion teams since 1930 (Uruguay, Italy, Germany, England, Argentina, France and Spain) have qualified for this competition. Spain is the defending champion, having defeated the Netherlands 1–0 in the 2010 World Cup final to win its first World title. The previous four World Cups staged in South America were all won by South American teams.
Timothy Richard "Tim" Tebow (/ˈtiːboʊ/; born August 14, 1987) is an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played quarterback for both the New York Jets and Denver Broncos. He played college football for the University of Florida, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and appearing on BCS National Championship-winning teams in the 2006 and 2008 seasons. Tebow was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
Tebow attended the University of Florida, where he played for the Florida Gators football team. Tebow became the Gators' starting quarterback during the 2007 season when he became the first college sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. In 2008, Tebow led Florida to a 13–1 record and its second national championship in three years, and was named the offensive MVP of the national championship game. The Gators again went 13–1 in 2009, his senior year. At the conclusion of his college career, he held the Southeastern Conference's all-time records in both career passing efficiency and total rushing touchdowns, appearing second and tenth (respectively) in the NCAA record book in these categories.
As a member of the Denver Broncos, he started the last three games of his rookie season and became the team's full-time starting quarterback beginning in the sixth game of 2011. The Broncos were 1–4 before he became the starter, but began winning with him on the field, often coming from behind late in the fourth quarter until they won their first AFC West title and first playoff game since 2005, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime. Despite his successes, Tebow was traded to the New York Jets during the offseason after the Broncos acquired free agent quarterback Peyton Manning. On April 29, 2013, the Jets released Tebow after drafting quarterback Geno Smith. He signed a two-year, non-guaranteed contract with New England on June 11, 2013.
Tebow is known for sharing his Christian faith with fans and in clinics, hospitals, market places, schools, and orphanages.
