Very unstable app, often doesn't connect to the scale. Latest version doesn't even start anymore! Tried restarting device, uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing works. And why does it need access to my contacts, phone and messages?

There seems to be no error handling or fallback strategies as it crashes every time when something is missing (service disabled or permission not given). Setup and connection to the device is a bit fiddly and not intuitive. I do want to use this app and these issues can be fixed very easily. So please do some bug fixing before implementing new feature people can't use anyway. Found a workaround by enabling just bluetooth and location. It is at least usable now.

Does not connect with my Galaxy S4. Instructions on the website not consistent with the menu of the app. It leads me to setup a profile on the scale AND in the app?! Scale switches off immediately when i try to pair. App design looks good, but that does not help if it SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK!
Now I got connection errors. Mixing up P1 and P2 . I'm returning the scale. Total crapware. App doesn't feel native. Connecting works. But no google.fit integration. This is easy to implement please add it.
Pay attention when setting up or it will not properly link with the account in the app. App UI is based on Pre Material Design. Missing the ability to link with Google Fit so info can be synched from (and to) the service.
Connection is not stable. It would be better if it is possible to download the data to a PC via USB I have deleted the app from my android.
Persistent connection fails during sync on Samsyng S7 with «BW 300 connect». Device visible but progress stop on 10%. After several hours inactivity sync unpredictably goes OK with no special efforts
I just received my product today. And downloaded the app. But during start up. I selected come to vita dock. Nothing happens. Even when i click on i have an account Nothing! If i don't get a reply I'm sending this product back
Some update a while ago must have fixed some things, because lately it connects flawlessly to my S7.

Have to setup a new connection everytime. Badges?? I dont care about those. Just want to monitor my weight!!

Cant tap on any button. useless, case no login/register is possible
Please add Google Fit, S Health or any kind of external connection. The whole point of having a smart scale is not having to log your weight yourself. But I do have to do it if I want to log it into a fitness hub. I understand you want to become a fitness hub yourselves, but exclusion and isolation is not the way. Example: I had several Samsung phones. I've decided to buy a Huawei this time though. But then I bought a Samsung Gear S2. And it works perfectly with the Huawei, S Health and even with Google Fit, Withings, training apps etc - and it is an amazing product. This makes me think about coming back to Samsung next time I buy a phone. Because the product is good, it impresses me instead of punishing me for not belonging to the Samsung ecosystem.
App used to work well, however I'm using latest version, and since updating my LG G5 to android 7.0 I can't connect to my blood pressure monitor. I emailed Medusa support, so they are aware of the problem, but no fix yet..... Will update this review when fixed!

Hello Jake, sorry for the hassle! According to reports from other users and developers, Android 7.1 addresses a lot of the issues that were introduced with version 7.0. Can you please check if there's an update to 7.1 available for your Android device already? Best regards, the VitaDock Team Printed instructions for BU 550 Connect should be written more clearly! (visti support website) Or even better, you could provide instructional videos in-app. Setting up the Date/Time - somehow would make sense this would be done after reset. Poorly written instructions don't explain clearly the following: 1) unlock the device to green note: don't press the on/off button - that triggers a measurement 2) press and hold S for 3 seconds to enter settings mode; adjust each value by pressing button M, proceed to next value by pressing S Date must be set to enable BT transfers. Create and connect to an VitaDock account. This app requires internet connectivity. These devices are still a bit expensive and are usually shared in-family. I think scenario for switching users and data-transfer for each family member is poorly covered or at least not quite self-explanatory. One should wear shoes of customers who are not familiar with computers. And achieve correct data transfer to their account. (i.e. Grandma and Grandpa measuring Blood Pressure & avoiding accidental upload to wrong account). Using the device for simple measurement (without connection) is easy. On/Off button does it all.

Hi Kirill, thank you for the response. :) Poisoned collaboration The connected products linked to this app are advertised at Thermae2000 (Valkenburg, The Netherlands). In our bathroom there was a 'connected' scale. It's really easy, just launch the app, create an account and step on the scale.. Wait, nothing happens, stand on the scale again, turn off/on Bluetooth manually, reboot the device, try connecting again, get on and off the scale, look at the Bluetooth logo in the VitaDock+ app that keeps on spinning no matter what I try. That's some bad advertising right there.

Stopped linking to scales on S6 Edge App worked perfectly up until 2 weeks ago and linked to scales. Have un-installed and re-installed but without success. App still links to Scales on my wife's S5 phone.
Please, cut the extras and focus on a clean user interface. Badges? Really? I appreciate effort of the developer to continously develop and improve this app, just not the frivolous, non clean and slow responsive interface.

BROKEN AGAIN: every update it's hoping for the best. Syncing stops AGAIN at 10%. Very unreliable! - - - - - - - - - - Very disappointed. Syncing worked, but after update stops at 10%. Even after reinstalling. So now it's useless. Medisana, fix this please, we have bought your product, give proper software support to your customers. How do you put out these bad updates? Improve your software team and update process.

After 3 years still no Google Fit support and no multi-device support, what a shame. I bought a second Medisana scale and you cannot connect with more than one scale efficiently, using bluetooth. So the second scale is dead-weight... The new app is dead slow, 62MB in size and more an advertissement to buy other Medisana gear instead of giving a superb user experience. Hence the majority of owners is unhappy with the device and app. A long, long way to go, DON'T BUY !

Hello Dag, sorry you're not happy with the products. We've designed the app to be used by one user with a maximum of one device of each type, one scale, one activity tracker, etc. To use two scales, you'll have to pair and unpair the scales when you change them. It'll work and only takes a few seconds more. Sync broken After the last update, my scales again refuse to sync. Again some bells and whistle update that breaks the basic functionality.

Hi Martin, thank you for the response, we will pass your feedback on. Please contact us at servicecenter@medisana.de. Useless Confusing and convoluted UI. Unable to pair the fitness tracker with my phone. Girlfriend is using it now: according to the tracker she might sleep 45 minutes one night, 13 hours the next. If you let the app turn on Bluetooth for you, it does not sync with the scale. Only syncs if you first turn Bluetooth on, then start the app.

Dear Menno, we ask for passwords containing digits, upper- and lowercase characters and optionally the following special characters: +@#$=._:()!'- Permissions are required for notifications to be displayed on our ViFit Touch Activity Tracker (Caller number or name, etc.). Please contact our support at servicecenter@medisana.de for assistance. Working great This app works excellent both with my IPad and Android phone, no connecting problems I've experienced before. I use it for almost a year now, it's getting better by each update, you obviously work on it, which I appreciate.
