Was recommended this App having just moved to Berlin for work. I made the error of selecting a personal account intead of Business and now there is no way to undo my mistake. Spoke to a N26 representative and explained my error and he said there was no way this could ever be reversed. Be careful - personal and business are mutually exclusive so if you are self-employed, tread with caution.
Support and marketing need to communicate. Welcome offer details were not passed on and no one knows how to fix the issue. That means that n26 owes me 30€ and doesn't seem to want to hold their hand of the bargain. I'm disappointed on the customer support. Revolut is better in that regard. Also that android app is functional but not polished, it's not very ergonomic compared to Revolut's. At least the card is cool looking.
Generally very sleek app with some bugs. Some internationalisation issues: it forces you to break street and address number into separate fields (you cannot leave the latter blank) but puts the number after the street, which is not correct for several places outside Germany, like Ireland or France. Could be easily rectified by making the first line of the address a single field so you can order it as per local standards. NFC payments is an obviously missing feature for a bank as mobile-centred as N26. Other banks' apps have this feature built in. Love real-time notifications, but certain classes of "backdated" transactions just appear in the history on a past date, with no notification that it was added.
Fingerprint-based login doesn't work after update 🙁 Edit: disabling and re-enabling fingerprint login in settings doesn't work either. It seems to scan the fingerprint (phone vibrates) but then doesn't proceed. Using the fingerprint again brings me back to the home screen (since the sensor is integrated into the home button).
IT IS INCREDIBLE THE WAY N26 OPERATES!! I have been trying to open an investment plan for the past week without success. I am able to complete all the steps (including accepting terms and conditions) but the final confirmation gives a push notification error saying that the server couldn't be contacted. I contact support and "Aaron" tells me that this error means I am not eligible to open an investment account and that he deals with this kind of complaints every day. I couldn't believe his words. This way to operate is incredibly shady. I am taking my money somewhere else.
Transferwise for foreign currency - great feature! But... it does not fully work. Today I tried to make the transfer 4 times and it failed. Later when I logged in I had 4 confirmations waiting for me so had to cancel 3 of them and accept fourth. Yet afterwards, the details of the transfer are not available because of server connection failure! Guys. When you do a feature, first make it technically work and then give it to us, customers. We do not want to be your free betatesters...
