About this app

The app "KIDS ON THE RUN" want to educate about child refugees in Germany. To the central themes "Origin", "Escape", "asylum" and "living and learning in Germany" are each formulated key questions, Quick facts of nature "Did you know that ..." appears, human rights issues imagines as underlying issues and in particular interviews with refugee children and helpers available for listening.

In this app the three refugee children Korosh, Haifa and Mohammad tell the story of their escape to Germany. The interviews are stored as audio and text are divided into the areas of origin, flight, asylum and living and learning in Germany.

Along this thematic structure, the App-depth information: Handy Facts such "Did you know that ..." inform and to educate about prejudices. More detailed texts on the subject of human rights provide appropriate background information. About an interactive map the various escape routes can be tracked. Pictures of the artist Hubert Stadtmüller illustrate the various topics.

To Find out more about human rights and fundamental rights, the Geneva Convention and the Child Rights Convention, the asylum procedure and the living conditions of young refugees in Germany can be experienced. The app also provides information on the first places to which committed citizens can turn when they want to help.

The app "Children in flight" takes a educational approach and is aimed primarily at young people. The goal is Enlightenment against xenophobia and racism and for joint cooperation. Teachers, the app offers varied accompanying material for teaching.
