*This app requires a rooted device with Qualcomm chipset*
What. SnoopSnitch collects and analyzes mobile radio data to make you aware of your mobile network security and to warn you about threats like fake base stations (IMSI catchers), user tracking, and SS7 attacks.
How. To use SnoopSnitch, a rooted device with a Qualcomm chipset running stock Android 4.1 or higher is required. Custom ROMs are often unsupported as they can lack necessary proprietary drivers. (CyanogenMod seems to work for some users.)
Contribute. SnoopSnitch uses data contributed by other users. By choosing to upload your measurements or security events, you can improve this data and support future research. SnoopSnitch will ask for confirmation whenever any information is uploaded to our servers. All uploads are encrypted.
Permissions. The app asks for a number of permissions:

License. SnoopSnitch is open-source software released under the GPL version 3. Please visit our project website for source code and further information:

READ THE DESCRIPTION YOU RETARDS This app is SPECIFICALLY working for certain phones because of the chipset as well as ROOTED. It has nothing to do with the CARRIERS but the PHONE SPECS. It's a shame it has such low ratings because half the people are lacking in mental capacity.

Tricky, more than spyware... actually tricking people into divulging technical onfo off their phones that can be profitted from The majorityof users must be getting blacklisted. These steps to ensure proper use would be outlined in bold at first available reference to user intending proper use and to gain anything from this app. Therefore, the intentional allowing of a majority of first time users, followed by requesting information from their phones that should never be shared with 3rd party operatives such as yourself leaves the conclusion this info is being solicited for devious purposes. Do not give this info requested!!!!!

Just spams your root getting permissions for the same few things over and over killing your phone. Doesn't do anything useful. App itself will just auto close if you open it with no crash being recorded.

Really good app SnoopSnitch is a really good app and works great on my Moto G 2014. Too bad most of this 1-star rant-people are too dumb to read the requirements. Also it's really classy to complain about root without any technical knowledge.

OK, I guess Starts recording in the background immediately after closing the app. Had to remove SU rights to stop it. It's a bit of a hurdle to do that each time I want to stop it.

Hi Zachary, the information you are worried about, you decided to share yourself. In the settings, and even then it is depersonalized before being sent encrypted to our analysis server. We are not hiding anything. You can see the App source for your self. Just spams your root getting permissions for the same few things over and over killing your phone. Doesn't do anything useful. App itself will just auto close if you open it with no crash being recorded.

Not working I am using lg nexus 5 and its chip is qualcolmn and i am using cynogenmod rom when i opened it it say my device is not compatible any help and sorry for my bad english.
Note 3 After installing the app, it stated that it can not be used on my phone. Something about the Qualcomm not being right. So, if snoop snitch can not work, can stingray hit my phone?

SnoopSnitch detects mobile network attacks. It does not prevent them. Oh man When is it the Android version going to be updated because i have LG v10? its not compatible on mine. But I really do hope you put it on the new soon.
Fatal error S5 Ive seen that other s5 owners can use this app. I rooted my phone but app says fatal error when i open it. Please help!
Wrong claim Though it claims works better for lg phones but it doesn't..I use lg g4 stylus but its not working..
After looking at what information the app can access on my device I think it is spyware. Apps don't actually need permissions to work, permissions are a legal trick to allow third parties legal access into your device. I have no complaints about this app needing root, android is a very insecure os and google should be ashamed of themselves for setting up this system which is renowned in the cyber security sector for letting malware through to the google play store and on to your devices.
I am not getting any results on my device. Wondering whether it supports lenovo vibe K5 plus! Hope the developer would extend the support for all the devices!
This app is b.s it does nothing. I am running my s5 on cm11 so yeh am rooted.! The app pretends to be working but detects nothing?

No, the dialing does not cost money as it will not be picked up. All Ok. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G with xiaomi eu ROM (6.1.14 Beta). Works fine.
Would love to see it updated. Submited crash logs. Maybe a lite and a second, paid version, would be great.
Could not use Received an error no baseband messages received, device not compatible, so could not use

Does not support Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 (gionee e8). Will keep it for upadte. Please do something.
