The State Network of Migrant Organizations Saxony-Anhalt (LAMSA) e. V. is a voluntary association of people with a migration background in Saxony-Anhalt. As the umbrella organization of migrant organizations, LAMSA unites people of different origins, cultural backgrounds and religious affiliations and thus represents a unity of diversity.
LAMSA bundles resources and potentials that are of extraordinary relevance for the community. Its members bring with them extensive competencies and skills that will become increasingly important in the future when dealing with social and cultural challenges.
LAMSA builds bridges for population groups with a migration background, whose participation in society is difficult. Language barriers, insecurities and shame, but also experiences of discrimination, are an obstacle for many people with a migration background to get in touch with facilities and institutions of the majority society.
LAMSA is an important player in the policy fields of migration and integration. The interests of people with a migration background, which appear to be extremely heterogeneous, can only be met by organized migrants themselves. They articulate and represent their interests authentically.
At LAMSA, facilities and institutions of the majority society have a contact person in order to obtain a differentiated picture of the issues of the different population groups with a migration background and of the necessities of migration and integration policy.
LAMSA stands for cooperation in diversity and is a model for a tolerant togetherness.
