About this app

Trygge Øer enables people with relevant skills in fire, police or health to become part of the emergency response when they are on selected Danish islands.

The app registers whether you are on an island that is part of Trygge Øer. In order to register your arrival and departure automatically – even when the app is running in the background or is closed – the app uses your location in the background. This is necessary so that the system can send alarms to the volunteers who are actually on the island. If an emergency occurs, you can receive an alarm with information about the task and the place where help is needed. You always choose whether to accept or reject the task.

Trygge Øer is a supplement to the island's existing emergency response. As a volunteer, you support local emergency groups, first aid groups and fire response until further help arrives from the mainland.

In the app, you can register with your professional background, be registered when you are on an island, receive relevant alerts, get information about the incident and the meeting place, accept or reject tasks, end tasks and turn your availability on and off.

Trygge Øer is for those of you who have education in health, police or rescue services and who want to make your skills available when you can and want to.

It is voluntary, unpaid and always your own choice.

Note: Trygge Øer is a voluntary supplementary network and does not replace the official emergency number. In urgent emergencies, you should always call 112 first.
