Needs selective sync capability I would like to find out when we will be able to share the recipes, but not the grocery list. Some family members have their own grocery lists, but would like to see my recipes. If we are all within a family group, only one of us can use the grocery feature. If you had a family group option for just the recipes and a family group option for sharing everything, that would very much improve the usefulness of the app.
Couldn't add any more recipes Had the same problem as Alice Armstrong Mason had about 25 recipes in there couldn't add anymore. Considering I make a different menu every week lunch and dinner for 60 guys kind of needed that to work. Uninstalled it and reinstalled it we'll see if it works.
At first glance I thought this app would be the app that I was searching for. An app that does recipes, shopping list AND inventory management. Unfortunately the inventory management is useless. It doesn't take into account quantities. If you have a recipe that asks for 8 eggs, you can add that to your shopping list. Great. But once you cross off, it updates your inventory list and puts "eggs 1". Not to mention that if you have 4 eggs in stock it adds eight nevertheless. Also, when you choose a recipe it should show you if you have the ingredients in stock to do it... Fix the crashes and inventory and this could be a great app. LOTS of potential, weak execution.
Lacks basic features This seems like a long list of advertisements. WHY THE HELL doesnt this come with a calander suited for MY meal plan? Why do i have to look through YOUR lists? I wanted a smart calander, so i could look and know. Thats. It.
This app is the most important I have ever used. I love many other apps, but none have saved me hundreds of dollars a year and have cut my food waste down to almost none. I know how it sounds, paid advert, hyperbole or a flat out lie. Before I started planning my meals weakly and buying only what I planned, I purchased what I felt I would make. I would forget to add certain things to meals, I would over purchase many items and purchase things I never made. This had our grocery bill over $1,000/mo for a family of 4, and we wasted about 20% of what we purchased. Today, I plan every meal with this app, spend less than $600/mo at Sprouts and waste maybe 2% of our leftovers. I never throw away rotten or unused food anymore. I'll admit, it's not perfect and I would love to see certain features added. Their development and support team is truly amazing, listen to requests and are more responsive than many of the apps I have used. (I bought the G1 day one and have used thousands of apps, alpha/beta tested hundreds; I have over 400 on my phone now.) In short... Get this app if you love to cook and save money.
Pros and cons When I originally downloaded this app, I had a glitch where I couldn't add more than 15 recipe. Uninstalled and reinstalled, fixed glitch. Now the only reason I didn't give this app more n 3 states is because it won't coalate ingredients when creating shopping list. If you have a recipe that calls for 5-6 pieces chicken, the grog list will say 30 pieces chicken + 17, instead of 30-47 pieces.
