Acute Child has been designed to help the clinician to prepare quickly and safely for the reception of the acutely ill or injured child.

By turning the wheel on the front of the acute child, age and weight are selected. When the relevant values are reached, confirm by pressing "OK" in the middle of the wheel. Immediately, the desired guide sheet is presented with normal physiological values, recommended utensils, drugs and volume boli.

Acute Children contains 31 guide sheets in the interval newborn (3 kg) to 10 years (33 kg) and Newborn Life Support guidelines from the European Resuscitation Council and guidelines for advanced resuscitation of children from the Danish Council for Resuscitation.

Emergency Child App has been developed by Chief Physician and Child Anesthesiologist Morten Bøttger and Chief Physician and Medical Officer Michael Friis Tvede from the Anesthesia and Operational Clinic, the Main OrtoCentret, Rigshospitalet.

The 2019 version of Emergency Child is based on the original version of Acute Child, which with the support of TrygFonden was released in 2012.
