Not for any serious photographer This app is a joke. Its not for any serious photographer who shoors film. No professional photographer in their right mind would scan their negatives or slides from their smartphone camera instead of an Imacon Flextight or Drum Scanner.
Just what I needed! After my grandfather had to move out of his house into an assisted living home, my mother was left with many of his belongings to sort through - including many old negatives. This app made it possible to convert the images (with the help of an internally lit lapdesk) into something that can be printed and given to my grandpa as a wonderful surprise from the past instead of just sitting in a box hidden forever. Now my grandpa can relish memories from family gatherings, some proffessional shots he took, and the war thanks to this app!
SO cool! This app is so cool! I'm thrilled that there's one for Android, given that there are various ones for iOS (but none that work on my hand-me-down iPad from work). One minor issue: when I try to upload to Flickr, it opens the web browser and asks me for permission to allow the third-party app to access my Flickr account every time I try to upload to Flickr, even if I accepted before. The acceptance doesn't seem to "stick". The Helmut app says my account is linked but it can't access Flickr to upload anything. I have the Flickr app on my phone as well and that doesn't help, though I can upload through it or from the Gallery into Flickr. Am I doing something wrong?
Great concept I've done a few tests but had issues with reflections on negatives. I know that's not the app's fault. Is there any info/instructions on building a light box? That's really the only shortcoming of scanning negatives this way. The UI and features are impressive!
FIVE STARS - WOW. This has got to be the best app I've ever seen on Googleplay - Just worked on my first slide, and this app was great. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. Nice design and easy to use. Thanks so much to the developers for putting this app out on Googleplay. I love it.
So far great! Nice app with simple and important features. But how do I change the save location? Saving in a set folder using my phone's memory is not preferable if I want it on my SD card.
* Tweaked auto-adjustment algorithms.
* Stabilized cropping mechanism.
* Minor bugfix when loading a preset with adjustments in Levels.
* Added support for more tablets.
