About this app

Klimatorium is an innovative climate center located on Denmark's west coast. Klimatorium is the meeting place that brings together civil society, authorities, companies and educational institutions for debate on lifestyle, prevention and adaptation to the climate challenges we face.

When the water rises, it hits the population wide. Both in the public landscape and environment and in the private homes and gardens. There is a great level of awareness of the consequences of the changed weather conditions all the time that everyone feels them, so to speak, on their own body. Nevertheless, information is a very important element, as the measures taken can be both very expensive and have major consequences for citizens.

An important function for Klimatorium is to help climate projects get off to a good start - and that these are both accepted by and implemented by the citizens who will feel the changes.

The Klimatorium app has two primary focus areas, both of which are presented via Augmented Reality (AR) experiences and associated information material: solutions for handling rainwater and groundwater, respectively, and the flood defenses Le Mur in Lemvig.

Rainwater and groundwater:

Discover how we handle the increasing amounts of rainwater and what the solutions look like in the city. With the exciting interactive AR solution in the Klimatorium app, you can experience and even play with the design of the urban space's solutions for handling rainwater and groundwater. Give your own idea of how you see the urban space can look with solutions that can ensure that the sewers do not overflow and the water is collected and led away from roads and houses.

Le Mur - Storm surges and water level rises:

With the interactive AR solution in the Klimatorium app, you can experience the water rising, on your own, while getting the story of the previous storms that have challenged the area. The app thus works in two ways. First of all, you can see and read about the storms and their consequences for the area. The app also makes it possible to experience the storms and water levels rising around you, on your own. Via AR technology, you can stand in the middle of the storms and experience what it would be like to stand on the harbor if the guard had not been there.
