Mountain crowns are cycling events for lovers of bicycles and nature regardless of age, performance and gender. They are not primarily a competition, but an incentive for the public to do sports (cycling) in nature.
The author of the idea is Adam Hloch, who in 2013 launched the Crown of Wallachia (www.vkv-bike.cz), where over time sister projects in other regions of the Czech Republic and Slovakia are packed.
The basic idea of the crowns is in the time period (most often April - November) to overcome the number of peaks (usually 20) set by the organizer. On each peak, cyclists take a documentary photo (selfie) and after completing the photos from all the peaks they send them by e-mail to the organizers. Thus they become holders of the given Crown. Participation is free for cyclists. No entry fee is paid. This basic idea is the same for all. Other rules already vary slightly from region to region.
