Support for Intel X86? Will Intel x86 atom type CPU be build for BOINC? I'm using a Atom based processer and unable to use BOINC for other useful projects
WCG works well on JellyBean & Lollipop Not compatible with Android 6.0 Marshmallow yet. BOINC keeps telling me my WCG account doesn't exist. (Despite being able to log on to the website in Chrome.)
Love it! THANK YOU!! The only thing that I would change- is if there could be a setting to not allow disturbances of notifications ruin your computing session... I've since 'unsynced' my email just so it stops it's constant need to update during the night when I am using boinc, which seems way more important to me :D I'm so glad that this app is out so that I CAN contribute... Thank YOU!!
Why isn't this installed in everything automatically? Spare processing power is a commodity we all have at some point, often for 6+ hours whilst you sleep at a minimum. This app allows you to do your bit, admittedly you'll never know what 'your bit' did - but if it helps solves a bigger problem then no matter what kind of crappy human being you are in real life you can at least feel good about the research you're helping with.
Not running in background? There is nothing to prove that this is running and the design is only a loading bar. I wanted a graphical representation of what the program is doing, like the original computer screensaver.
Complete Fail This app needs _alot_ of work. The worst problem is that it does not leave the app in memory when the jobs are suspended*. Instead it restarts at the last checkpoint every time the app goes into suspend mode. I've had jobs running for days, yet only "completed" a few hours of work before being aborted. It doesn't work well enough to be considered "ready". *I have finally noticed that the client keeps restarting every few hours. If this is less than the checkpoint, the jobs never finish. I am uninstalling.
New to 7.4.41:
* Add support for Android 5.0.
