Incredible start, waiting for continuious transcription As one who has difficulty picking up speech in crowded spaces, this app intrigued me immediately. The instant transcription worked near-flawlessly with everyone in my family, including my 9 year old. I am more than impressed, even if most of the tech for the speed and accuracy of the transcription is Google's. The draw-back - If I want to use this in a conversation, I can't keep hitting the "Tap & Speek" button - I need to set it to go, and let it run for minutes or until batteries die. I could see using this with a BT headset, giving to my wife at a restaurant, and just letting it run throughout the evening. Is that in the future? Need a beta tester? I am very much looking forward to the future of this app. Great start, incredible potential.

Speak with the deaf using live captioning. Don't know sign language? Need to get your message across clearly? Using voice recognition software, speak into your phone and the words are transcribed live on the screen of the device. Talk to anyone face-to-face with Live Captions.
Not for transcribing phone calls.
Instructions:
Push "VR Once" and the Voice Recognition will activate once, and will not auto prompt. The text result will appear on screen.
Push "VR Auto", and the Voice Recognition captures a segment of speech, then it must stop to process what was said.
After returning the text of what was said, the VR prompt will initiate again after 4 seconds.
To stop this cycle, just hit cancel on the Voice Recognition prompt.
To respond with typed text, tap the "Keyboard Entry" button to toggle back and forth between modes.
Tips:
The most current voice results are delivered at the top and scroll down, similar to a Twitter feed.
Once VR is stopped you can scroll down to previous voice results.
Once VR is restarted, the previous results are deleted and can not be retrieved. No data is recorded or saved.
If you change the language on your phone, it will return results in that language.

ClearCaptions
Like closed captions on your TV, ClearCaptions on your phone calls lets you hear AND read what's being said, eliminating the frustration of hearing on the phone. Instead of asking people to repeat themselves, or guessing what was said, you can read the person's words on your Android while you listen on the call.
Free for Qualified Users.
As of September 30, 2013, the FCC requires users to pay a one-time Access Fee to enable ClearCaptions. Upon download, the ClearCaptions app will direct you to a page where you can enable ClearCaptions by registering for the service, and paying the FCC Access Fee. Once enabled, ClearCaptions is free to use.
**NOTE**
There are two ways you can use ClearCaptions on your device: simultaneous voice and captions, or captions only. To see captions and hear the call at the same time, you must have a simultaneous voice and data connection, and your phone must be able to accept inbound calls. For captions only, you'll only need a data connection, and will need to use a different phone for the audio portion of your call. In either case, the data connection can be through your wireless carrier or over wifi.
JoeGlass (For Google Glass)
This app is for Google Glasses. The Mirror API is too central. With mounting privacy concerns lets just talk directly with the Glasses!
This app is the start of a replacement for Google's MyGlass app. Nothing special needs to be installed on your glass. This app talks directly over Bluetooth to your glasses.
You can send messages, take screenshots, and get device information.
I have added a "Send to Glass" option when sharing content on your phone so it can be sent directly to glass.

Deaf - Hearing chat device D
DH Chat is a system for face-to-face communication between deaf and hearing people without a sign interpreter.
If you are a hearing person, you can communicate with your deaf relatives, friends, clients, employees and so on.
If you are a deaf person, you can make a face-to-face conversation with hearing people without sign interpreter. You can use the system everywhere: at home, at your work, at restaurants, during your education and so on.
The system consists of two android devices (phones or tablets), linked via Bluetooth.
Install the “Deaf-Hearing Chat Device-D” application on the first device (which will be used by a deaf person).
Install the “Deaf-Hearing Chat Device-H” application on the second device (which will be used by a hearing person).
Run the applications on both devices and link the devices via Bluetooth.
A hearing person speaks into the phone, the application transforms the speech into a text message and sends it to the Device-D (used by a deaf person). You can also exchange text messages between the devices.
The system is very convenient for regular communication in families with a deaf family member. Each message is followed by vibration, so you can always call a deaf person, address him / her.
The system may also be used by a deaf person to communicate with hearing people in a shop, a hospital, a bank, etc. In this case, a deaf person should have both devices with him / her and pass a device with a pre-installed “Device-H” application to a hearing person to start communication at any time.
The application for the device-D, called Deaf-Hearing Chat Device D, enables a deaf person to type text messages on a virtual keyboard and to send them to the device-H (the button “Send”). Each sent message can be duplicated by the synthetic speech (the button “Speak and Send”). For the synthetic speech a speech synthesis module should be installed on the device (usually it’s installed; if it’s not it can be downloaded from Google Play, e.g. SVOX classic TTS or Pico TTS). The messages, received from the device-H, are shown on the display.
Buying applications for the complex you’re contributing to rehabilitation of the deaf and helping them to adapt to the modern world of hearing people.

The system is really wonderful and the price is very low for opportunities which the system gives. Buy and download the app now.
Some reasons to buy the app:

DEAFCOM - The Deaf Communications Assistant
This is a very simple application that will convert speech into readable text.
For a non-hearing or hard of hearing person, the application will allow faster communication with deaf persons. For deaf users, the software can assist in faster communication and may also be used as a useful tool when practicing your speech.
I would like to thank my friend Mitch Bergsma for the inspiration to write this useful tool.
Be sure to check out his latest videos on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/micbergsma
This application requires access to internet for the Google Speech engine, data rates may apply.
Currently the only supported language is English.
Virtual Voice
This application is designed to use the text to speech (TTS) and the speech recognition features of your Android device.
It was created with deaf and/or mute people in mind, so they can communicate with others without the need for sign language or lip reading.
It has a very simple interface, with large lettering for those that are visually impaired.
It is FREE! and it contains NO ADVERTS!
This app was developed to use your device's NATIVE language. In other words, it should work in whatever language you have your phone set to.
If you have problems getting it to "Speak", make sure you have a text-to-speech engine installed on your device such as Pico TTS.
If you have problems getting it to "Listen", check you have an internet connection available (WiFi or 3G data enabled) so that it can connect to the Google recognition services.
Further problems? Please email me.

You can see maps of your rides, track your time, distance, and average speed, and even share maps of your favorite biking routes with friends if you want. Cycle Atlanta is easy to use: just hit "Start" when you begin your ride, hit "Save" when you are done, then select a Trip Purpose from a short list.
Do you bike occasionally for fun or exercise? Are you an avid cyclist who bikes to work everyday? Are you interested in helping to make Atlanta a more bike-friendly city? Then Cycle Atlanta is for you. Cycle Atlanta tracks your ride using the GPS on your iPhone. At the end of each trip, data representing your trip purpose, route, and the date and time are confidentially sent to researchers at Georgia Tech and planners at the City of Atlanta.
