Take the plunge! For a start, it's not breaking the bank! I admit that I am using it for stills at the moment. But don't rely on testing using the Alpha release., the free one, it was a bit hit and miss. Once I decided to pay for the Beta version it was very straightforward. Btw I am using a Canon 1dx plus either a Sony xperia z3 8"tablet or Samsung Galaxy Note 3..although still being developed, this is an amazing app. All I wanted was a real time view of the photos I take but on a large screen, you get much more.
Brilliant for self shot video I make videos which often include filming myself. If you don't have a DSLR with a flip around screen, it's irritating to try and guess the focus and composition. I have my smartphone on a camera cage, facing frontwards so I can now compose the shot, click the screen for auto focus! And hit record when I'm ready. All from the front of the camera! A fantastic tool for this use.
Brilliant I have been looking at the Camranger but decided I couldn't justify the cost. Then I heard about this with the tplink 3040 which does much the same job for over £200 less. Firmware update went flawlessly and in about 20 minutes from opening the box I was remote shooting from my 5Dmk3 using my galaxy S5. Absolutely great. Works with my wife's 700d too. :-)
WOW. This app is fantastic! I was going to buy a separate camera monitor for like $150, then I saw this and it saved me sooooo much money. There is a slight delay between the camera and phone screens, but it is explainable. Maybe in the newer updates they will be able to fix it. This app is so worth the money. I would recommend getting a hot shoe phone mount for realistic use
Works with 550d/t2i and nexus 5 Got this app- pretty darn useful and works fine with my canon 550d (t2i/kiss x4) and a nexus 5- I used a OTG cable with a micro USB not HDMI and haven't experienced any problems! IF YOU DONT LIKE YOU CAN GET REFUND! I have not found out how to monitor audio- don't know if you can do it. Also I have magic lantern on my camera and it doesn't cause any issues
A must have tool for DSLR users with Android phones Works like a charm! I can confirm that it works on my Lenovo P780, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It has the occasional force close but no totally a deal breaker since it only happens once in a while and on extensive use only. The server remote feature is great for use in photobooth and studio pictorial situations.
