Another app, another 1 star review. Just when you thought it can't get any worse. Chromecast streaming first shows only audio and the loading circle. After several restarts video starts but subtitle rows stay on the same line for minutes and are out of sync. Subtitle size/language choices in settings menu don't work - it always defaults to medium and English.
When you think it can't get any worse, the guys at Hbo force you to update to a even crappier version. It's still unthinkable how difficult is for this guys to make Chromecast work properly. Out of sync voice and video and subtitles in the 'happy' moments that manages to stream anything... Disappointing
The worse app I've ever seen on GPlay, it crashes at almost any action. I can't believe someone would release an app to the public with so many problems. How do you encourage users to signup after the trial period if the app has so many problems.
The android and samsung tv version of this app is the worst. When I try to start the TV version aways want to activate like new device. And when I activate it I can not watch anything. Can not find device! Please bring back old app and make tv pin activation available.
Why did you release a replacement app that is buggier than the older version? More often than not the video either doesn't start or doesn't resume, crashing the app. I think only 20% of the attempts to play a video are successful. This is on Wi-Fi with a LG G5 - Android 7.0. Were you able to publish this in Apple's App store, or are you using us as beta testers for iOS users?
Streaming to a Chromecast makes the video lag behind the audio for a while which is resolved after a few minutes(still frustrating) but the subtitle is permanently behind the audio and is practically useless. Such a shame that HBO can't implement the Chromecast protocol correctly like Netflix. I guess I won't continue with the subscription after the free trial ends.
