Get instant notifications from IRC hilights and private messages straight from your Irssi IRC client to your Android device!
IrssiNotifier uses Google Cloud Messaging (Android push mechanism), so notifications consume very little battery and are almost real time.
Irssi script set up is straightforward and instructions are available at the app's web page at https://irssinotifier.appspot.com.

Does this have problem with android M's deep sleep? Because I have found it not working at times. It is a really great and useful app. Please fix if it has a problem and I will rate 5 star! Overall good and must have for irssi users. Loved it! Update: rated 5 star.

Great functionality and it just works But please consider lowering the price of the + version. It seems expensive for a fairly simple app compared to other apps (i.e. Tasker). Then I'll be a paying customer too! :-)

Helpful app if you depend on irc I've missed several important messages since flashing Android M. Deauthing and reauthorization of Google App Engine has fixed the problem.

I guess it's some border case but my script (v20) never started working Android part of the set worked flawlessly, account has been set up in 30 seconds, script has been installed and started in another 30, so after executing commands as shown on the help page I expected the script to work. Sadly (despite few wipes/resets, going to defaults, etc) script was always shown as "not confirmed as working" on the profile page. Some debug function could probably help me find/fix the issue - so far reporting it makes no sense as there's not even an initial diagnosis I can conduct and send to dev... Edit: hmm, somehow it managed to send ONE notify on default settings (inc. password). That's all.

Great app, but odd issues Since today I get 6 notifications for the same message, it's very annoying, and I can't really find a cause. Other than that, excellent app.

Works Brilliantly Utter genius. This is an absolute must-have for anyone who uses irssi. The help section on the webpage is recommended for setting up idle time and things like that.
Works great when it works! Website instructions don't resolve broken functionality when it stopped working. Had to tinker to make work again. Works great when functioning though...
Awesome IRC App Awesome perk for users of good old irc, where there is no accountability and no silly real name policy. And it worked out for more than 20 years already and counting.

Alright but It is rather annoying that you removed features from the once free version to make a plus edition. I just don't have the 6 bucks for it.. The app used to always pull in missed messages...

History no longer works Broken since the last update(s). Only the most recent notification remains visible - history is empty. Jompikumpi kahdesta viimeisimmästä päivityksestä rikkoi appin. Näkyviin jää uusin nootti, historia on muuten täysin tyhjä. Toimi aivan loistavasti tätä ennen. :(

This is fixed in the latest update. Korjattu viimeisimpään päivitykseen. Awesome I recently tried WeeChat and wanted to switch, but had one thing that kept me from ditching irssi, until I saw that an IrssiNotifier script is also available for WeeChat. This thing is great and works exactly like it should. Hell, even the reviews are of better quality than those of most other apps, but I guess that says a little about the user base. A tip for irssi users: Check out WeeChat if you haven't, it's super cool. There is also an Android client available for it, it's a lot more comfy than using an ssh client on your phone. And if you're still using GNU screen you need to check out tmux. That is all.
Awesome! Works just as advertised, setup was rather easy and notifications are near instant. I also like a lot the idle time requirement. I sometimes forget ssh session open on my computer when I'm away, so I get notifications even then! The shortcut to Irssi ConnectBot profile is also great idea.
Awesome! Clean and simple app which does everything I would expect from it. Must have for Android users. (However if you don't use IRC, I recommend to learn that as well. ;-)
Best. App. Ever. I do regret finding about this app months late. Detailed install instructions combined with a very functional UI can't go wrong. Not to mention that something like this has been longed for for ages. Kudos!
Hilights random stuff This is great when it works, but recently it has started sending me random strings and random sentences... EDIT: Looks like the problem is fixed now :D Works excellent and is actually really, really useful.

Do you use DCC? It might be related to that. If the latest script still does that, drop me a line and let's fix it. Nice app Easy to use and does what it says. I don't suppose there's a way to make it work without having background data enabled?

New version has this feature! Also, the new IrssiNotifier+ allows you to pull the messages when you want, so no need for background data at all. Works and does exactly what I wanted Thank you :-) The installation was very nice - I was glad I didn't have to copy some sort of long token from the phone to the central site and so on. Password encryption of messages is a nice feature too .... thanks. David

Great! Awesome addition to old trustworthy IRC. Installation was relatively easy with the instructions from apps webpage. I recommend this for all irssi + android users :)
