MIDI Recorder is built so that doesn't happen anymore. Every improvisation, every spontaneous idea, captured to a standard MIDI file you can open in any DAW.

ALWAYS READY
Leave your keyboard powered off. When you turn it on, the app reconnects automatically. Recording waits for your first note, so files have no empty lead-in. Auto-stop ends the take when you stop playing. You don't fight the app — you just play, and the take is there.

Or turn any of it off: every automation is optional, and the app adapts to your workflow rather than the other way around.

WHY I MADE THIS
I'm a developer and a musician who improvises often. I got tired of losing good ideas to forgotten moments, so I built MIDI Recorder for myself. I use it every day and keep developing it.

That's also why every feature is free, and will stay free. An optional in-app purchase removes the ad banner, but no functionality is ever locked behind a paywall — not now, not later.

REQUIREMENTS
• Android 12 or newer
• A BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) MIDI device or a USB MIDI device (most modern digital keyboards)
