Save yourself some time. I've been testing pay & IAP podcast apps. I've yet to find one to match this one overall. Constantly & consistently improving...thus far without glitchiness. The only major improvement I desire to make it THE best would be in its search capabilities. I've used some other apps to find some pertinent podcasts that I could not have found with this app. Find there, subscribe here.
My journey has been Podcast Addict -> Pocket Casts -> Player.FM and I'm by far the happiest with this last app. The two most important things for me are: - This app has a great UX, every mainstream use case has been thought out and is supported well. - I can download and play individual episodes, without subscribing to a feed. This is nontrivial (if at all possible) in other podcasting apps I've tried.
Easy to load up and start listening If I had one gripe it would be that the controls in the lock screen don't allow me to fast forward easily. I listen to podcasts on my daily commute and it's tough to skip ahead if I have to access the app.
Must have One of the best podcasts player on Google play. Without ads it's simply perfect. I've recommended it to many friends. Well deserved. However if there had been an option to play next it would be on the top.
A "tin" of the labelled stuff.... Does exactly what I want, when I want. The only gripe would be the CPU usage.
For the most part, very good Recently, very slow start of each episode (buffering). True, it could be due to the podcast servers.
- Closing the player from the "recents" screen
- Episode detail title. For long episode titles which are truncated, the whole title will now appear above episode description.
- Episode detail tweaks
- "Downloaded" pop-up. When you open your downloaded episode and tap on the word "Downloaded", you will see a pop-up screen with some useful info as file size, file path and download date and option to delete episode.
- Bug fixes
