About this app

Some messages are too important to leave to chance, and too heavy to send too
soon. Beacon is a dead man's switch for the words that matter: it holds one
message for you and delivers it only if you can no longer send it yourself.

Here is how it works.

Write your message.
Choose one person — a trusted contact, a family member, a friend. Write what
you need them to know: a location, an instruction, a goodbye, the name of a
lawyer, where the documents are. Add attachments if you need to.

Beacon checks in with you.
Once a day, Beacon asks if you are still here. Answering the check-in takes
one tap. As long as you keep answering, nothing happens and no one is
contacted.

If you stop answering, your message is delivered.
If you miss your check-ins, Beacon delivers your emergency message to the
person you chose, exactly as you left it. Not a draft. Not a summary. The
message you wrote, in your words.

You stay in control the whole time. Edit your message whenever you like.
Pause Beacon when you are safe. Turn it off when you no longer need it. You
decide who receives it, what it says, and how often Beacon checks in.

Who Beacon is for
Beacon was built for people who carry a message they hope they never have to
send: someone facing detention, a person heading into surgery, a parent on a
long deployment, an organizer at a demonstration, anyone whose safety is not
guaranteed and who needs one person to know one thing if the worst happens.

Quiet by design
Beacon does not celebrate, upsell, or rush you. There are no badges, no
streaks, no noise. It does one job, carefully: it keeps your message safe,
and it speaks only when you cannot.

Private and secure
Your message is yours. Beacon stores it securely and delivers it only to the
person you name, only under the conditions you set. We never sell your data.
